Looking to purchase a new 230i or used M240i

I've owned 3 BMW's and now have a 2018 Camaro SS M6.
Was thinking of a new 230i with X-drive and Msport.
My question is does the 230i's acceleration feel quick enough?

My Camaro has 455 hp and the 230i would be 255 hp but I'm willing to give up top end power if the 230i is quick and fun.
Was looking for opinions.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

My previous BMW's:
1991 BMW 318is
2002 BMW 325Ci
2008 BMW 2008 135i

I would go with the 240 to be safe. Especially with xdrive, it’s not going to feel slower than your Camaro. But the 230 might feel like a down grade if you like to do hard pulls

I'd post this in the general discussion forum for the G42, so you get more "eyes" on your post and more responses.

Coming from an SS with 455hp, you'll definitely feel a difference with the 230i and likely some difference with the 240i.

I chose the 230i M sport, but not X-drive. With 295 lb/ft of torque, the B48 motor feels quick with the 255hp, but certainly doesn't have the pull of the B58 or your SS. However, for a daily driver, it excels and getting 30 mpg while still driving the car enthusiastically is a huge bonus.

Of course, what you need to do is go drive a 230 and a 240 and decide for yourself.

Good luck,
Bill
