Interesting, the video above shows a US-regulation model with carbon buckets.

Yeah, I spent a fair amount of time looking it over this morning. It was popular in terms of people looking at it and taking pictures. From talking with many people, casually, it appeared to be very polarizing.

Also, how's zandvoort blue in person? Is it a washed out color that hides body lines? |

I guess it was about what I expected although some areas just don't agree with my taste, even looking almost unfinished or whatever (see rear pic below for example and also side view of front wheel and wheel well). The blue is a bit milky maybe, but I don't care for it at all especially on an M car.

Still not warming up to ZB. Sigh.
Interested to see if I'll like it more in person. I'm guessing I'll like it more but still dislike it lol. |

For some reason all these pics of ZB look like they have some sort of blue tint over the entire photo. At least that's my impression looking at them on my phone.
But then when I clicked on the instagram link/video above, it looks "normal" again? Maybe it's just me. I've been up since 3am |

I actually had the choice between a Grey on Grey Cayman S vs a Red on Tan Cayman S. The red had the better options, was better taken care of. I shoulda gone Red but I couldn't do it. I think it's too 'flashy' or maybe it's because I don't like the look of blood. I don't know. But I know I can't do red. Green. I could prolly do. That Thundernight. I could prolly do. It's pretty flashy. But I would pick that purple over red. No. Red. Cars. For. Me. 😆 |

Again, I'm old, I've been around BMWs since 50+ years ago, and I love designs like the E32 (had two of them ages ago), my E39 M5 (owned for 15 years), etc, oh I think the E46 ZHP sedan slicktop is the most beautiful BMW sedan (my daughter has been driving hers for over 17 years). My wife and I love the F87 M2C we bought new a bit over 4 years ago, but the new one just isn't something I think we'll ever own for a wide range of reasons which is fine, since I would guess if it appealed to me, it probably wouldn't be the car design BMW is trying to find here in 2023 (almost). It's going to be at the CCA HQ cars and coffee tomorrow, so if there is any other angle picture desired, let me know. These are all untouched iphone12 pictures as I don't plan to take a dslr with me.

I will say, the car was among some truly stunning M's. We're talking F87CS, a real M3 CSL, E36 M3 LTW, 1Ms ect.... it was always going to be difficult to sell me on it. The G87 is honestly begging to be lowered, wheels that fit better, and maybe some CF aero. It's not a pretty car IMHO, but it can be made to look aggressive if that makes sense. For me though, I came away not seeing much of a reason of wanting to upgrade my F87, and if I had to pick a G8x, at the moment it'd probably be an IoMG G80 6MT |

So yeah, with this company that the sort of odd(?) looking G87 was forced to be around, it had some pretty high standards of comparison.
