I haven't seen this on the M57 but its common on some VW turbos. There is usually a press fit bushing in there that you can hammer out and put a new one in, but I've never looked into this on this particular turbo. If you are going that route you could replace the CHRA as well when you have it out.

If you're not comfortable working on a turbo like that you can find someone local or just buy a reman unit. I saw that xman turbos has a slightly upgraded large turbo for sale now and they are in your neck of the woods, could be worth checking out as they are fairly well regarded in the TDI community.
