I just re-read your initial inquiry and realized I forgot you already ordered 19x9 and 19x10, I was responding as though you were considering ordering a set.

Your plan to use 245/40 and 275/35 works fine with a .4% difference front to back.

APEX also recommends 255/35/19 and 295/30/19, which is perfect 0% difference, but APEX warns "Typically a direct fit with street tires, however, an moderate increase in front negative camber will be required with compounds that run wide"

I pledged on that group buy for a set of VS5-RSs(19x9 +25/19x10 +38) in satin black.

You guys posted an update video saying some sets would be shipping much sooner than you'd anticipated.

Am I in that sooner group? I have a racing event on 4/1 and I'd really like to be on the new wheels. Thanks!

I do actually have a technical question as well. Would it be okay to reuse the 245s I have on the front and order a new set of 275s for the rear, or would it be better to just order 4 new tires and start fresh?
The early shipment sets were mainly 5x120 wheels on the BMW side. It was essentially all of what we had in stock, but the 5x112 G2X and G42 wheels were already sold out when the GB concluded. All of your orders are dependent on new product arriving and the emails that were sent out had ETAs based on when your specific would be arriving.

Buyers that pledged earlier in the process have a better allocation and later pledges will ship out later. It should be on the GangUp email confirmation though.

Hey All,

Trying to keep this thread uncluttered, but our 20" Group Buy is now online. A full thread with a breakdown on what's coming can be found here: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2004649
You can also visit GangUp directly via my signature image.

TL: DR we have the same widths and offsets that we offer as the standard 19" G42 fitments on the way in a 20" diameter as well as the 18" wheels we released earlier. The new wheels are 20x9 ET25 and 20x10 ET38. I don't yet have on-car shots of these wheels as the samples are still en route.

I'm excited to bring more options to this chassis! Thanks for your interest in our wheels!

-Tom

Your car looks great, did you leave the H&R lowering springs installed?

I ordered the APEX VS-5RS satin bronze in the same 19x9.5 square setup. Based on your clean fitment, I think I'll go 265/35/19 when the wheels arrive.

There will be a small amount of poke without the extensions. 265 on the front is really the practical limit without excessive poke and clearance to the strut. The rear can go to 295 with the right offset (min et35 preferably et40), but if your car is xdrive you have to consider keeping the diameters as close as possible to equal.

I don't have any photos of these yet, unfortunately. We'll be shipping them to customers when they arrive but we weren't able to order samples of this setup.

Hi Everyone,

With the expansion of the VS-5RS into multiple fitments and 18, 19, and 20” diameters specifically for the g42 series, we’ve loved seeing APEX wheels on these newer BMW chassis. With that in mind, we’ve been wanting to expand our forged wheel options for these cars, but we need your help identifying your preferred wheel designs and fitments for your chassis.

Edit: This Survey has concluded. Thanks for your feedback!

Please note: this survey is for forged wheels only. We’ll be working on adding flow formed options in the future, but this survey does not include those wheel designs.

Thanks again to everyone who has already provided feedback and/or picked up our VS-5RS or SM-10s!

Hey guys. I had my Apex wheels installed today. I wanted to share some pictures here as a reference because although this is a recommended tire size, I couldn't find any pictures anywhere.

I have Apex VS5-RS satin black 19x9 +25 in the front and 19x10 +38 in the rear. Tires are Michelin PS4S 245/40r19 in the front and 275/35r10 in the rear.

I snapped these pictures in my phone, but if Expert@ApexRaceParts wants I can use my real camera and take better photos.

The offsets are pretty conservative, which I like. I wasn't looking to be a stance boy and I'm pretty impressed it's tucking 10" in the rear and 9" up front and still looks like this.

Going from stock ZTK wheels with 10mm Dinan spacers to this set up, even though I've only driven probably 20 miles, I do feel a difference. The spacers made the front end feel wonky, I don't know how to explain it other than that. Glad to be back to normal.

Speaking of ZTK, these wheels really show off those big brakes. I'm really glad I went with blue calipers.

Unfortunately the shop did damage one of the wheels. Unsure how to proceed from here, but the joy is overcoming the frustration for now.

Edit: I should probably mention, the car is lowered on Dahler springs.

Love the look of these wheels on the car, thanks for sharing! We'd love to see more photos of the setup, but no need to rush out to take them. I'm glad you're enjoying the wheels thus far.

Thats really unfortunate to see the damage from the shop on the wheels. While I hope they cover the cost of the problem, that kind of paint damage or any other damage is absolutely covered by our replacement program if you got the wheels from us or a dealer as a set of 4.

Link to the details on that program here: https://apexwheels.com/replacement-program

While we tend to focus on the benefits of the program for track damage, it applies to almost anything including the paint issue you have and would give you half off MSRP on a replacement wheel, or the shop if they cover the cost of the damage. You can apply for that on the page linked above. The wheel seems to be fine to drive on but wanted to mention it as an option just in case.

Thanks for running our VS-5RS wheels!

-Tom

I made a separate thread on my setup, but thought I'd include a few of my favorite pics here since it's an in-depth Apex-inclusive thread.

19x9.5 et25 square wrapped with 265/35
19.2 lbs. each!

I'd love to get a set of these in Motorsport Gold, these wheels suit the car so much! but it's too much money for me atm, perhaps in the future.

No Group Buys are planned for these wheels at the moment, but we will have a 4th of July sale coming a bit later this week. I can't share details on whats coming, but we'll be sure to post the details in the commercial sections later.

Wheel Offset for 265/35/19

Hello,

Apex recommends running 19x9.5 et25 for a squared setup but what would be the difference if a wheel was instead et 22, would that mean less clearance for brakes or a need for spacers? I am new to the wheel/tire sizes and offsets. any insight or recommendations would be appreciated

decreasing the et on the same wheel it would push the wheel outwards away from the suspension, same effect as putting spacers on would have
