Ordered with everything outside of the auto transmission.
Manual - would not have bought the car if it only came in auto, this is a deal breaker.
Carbon Package - another deal breaker, if this is the last M car with a stick, I'm going to order it with the most aggressive packages and enjoy the hell out of it like it is supposed to be.
Exec Package - I live in the PNW and DD it, yes, I need the heated wheel and the lights and all of it.
Don't skip out on options and enjoy every second of driving it.

Black is the color for the G87. However, that Frozen Gray looks so damn good too. I would have maybe ordered that if available. But it wasn't so no worries.

This thread is useful and timely, as I placed an order for an M2 over lunch today. I had decided to skip the wireless pad based on a number of unenthusiastic or negative reviews, and the experiences here confirm that this was the (for me) correct decision.

I test-drove an M4 with CR today, and my head was still hitting the side of the ceiling in my favorite (high-ish) seating position. For folks who picked the carbon roof for head space -- do you have the seat at the lowest position (as I had to do to get comfortable in the M4)?

I love the frozen gray, but after reading up on frozen paints I feel like I should be afraid of it.

After having a black car, I know to be afraid of black paint, (although nothing looks better for that first 5 minutes after a wash).

Wireless charging pad - I ordered it as a "just in case I need it" sort of thing, and only as that. $200 wasted? Maybe.

My wife's X5 has one. It is an excellent phone heater for sure but it does charge the phone so long as the screen is off. Sometimes using Waze the screen will list the directions and stay on in which case you don't gain charge but you also don't lose it either. With wireless CarPlay I'm not going to install a phone holder / magnet so will use the charging pad if needed, and on long roadtrips. Will also have cords in the car if needed. I use the one in the X5 all the time, it just gets warm, that's all.

I’ve only had mine for 3 weeks but I’m happy with the spec and build I went with.

I originally went with black but when frozen grey was added for the 2024 I went with it. Absolutely love the color.

Other then that I didn’t get the HUD as it annoys me. I did get the carbon pack and I think the seats add something to the G87.

I’m 230lbs and 6” and I fit perfectly. iND bolster protectors are a must.

Consider a frozen color they’re worth it, ZB while nice might get old quickly.

I saw a TR with bi-color that looked really nice. I do think they work on the AW due to the contrast. I just dislike that style of wheel in general as it's too hard to clean .

Definitely a concern. Way out of character color for me.

I *feel* like it could be a classic BMW color in the long run, and like the fact that it's a launch color and exclusive to the M2 (for now).

That said, I thought my first wife was the right choice at the time as well...

My question is— for those in the car for a while, and knowing what you know now— what would you have done differently with respect to speccing out the car?

Options you regret not getting? Options that were a waste?

Color choice remorse?

Appreciate the feedback and all of the posts and contributions that got me to this point.

Current build: 6MT, ZB, M-Color highlight, CF trim, JB wheels, Shadowline/lighting pkg, CF roof, HUD, wireless charging, heated wheel (I'm getting soft in my old age)
You will not regret that current build unless you randomly hate driving stick.

I have the same build except I have full carbon pack with seats. Some love some hate. I love, but then again don’t daily.

I don’t have heated wheel so can’t comment on it, but HUD is game changer with 6MT.

i have CF roof and my seat is just a touch off the lowest setting to give me adequate headroom as i dont want it to sit at the absolute lowest setting forever. i am 6'2, but if you need more color DM me for weight, inseam, build, 3RM bench press and squat, and hair style.

I agree with you that in 10, 20 years of whatever, the ZF blue on the M2 will be a classic BMW color. But the whole living in the moment thing and not caring about what might be in the future helped me stick to what I really wanted now with the black color.

That's a funny comment on the first wife.

I didn’t think I would like that color at all but when I saw it in person this past February my jaw dropped and I put my deposit down that instant. Right now, for me, its ZB first and AW second.

That's my current quest-- to try to find one to see in person. Short of a drive to a dealership 4 hours away, there's none close to me right now.

Really looking forward to seeing it in person.

I had specced ZB back in 2022 when I placed my order. Fast forward to March 2023 after it appeared at Daytona and saw a number of pictures and changed to BG. Saw it in person at my dealership in May 2023 and was soooo glad I switched to BG.

I only have 400km and while I didn’t spec it, my car came with the wireless charging that I don’t care to use. It’s just a pain to use and I’m more comfortable using the cable.
Outside of that I love my Brooklyn grey (3rd time with that colour so far) since it doesn’t show dirt and I park it outside.

I regret not getting the M Perf HAS.

So far the Active Cruise Control was a waste, an known waste, since I knew I would not use it. I got it just to have the tecnology in the car.

No remorse on the color, even when I wanted a black car. More of a wish than a practical choise since black and Los Angeles dont go together! But would have gone frozen if it was available back then.

Ownership since Oct 2023 and 3k miles. Here are my specs: BG, Blue stitching, Shadowline (still trying to see the differences), Lighting Package (this is really nice specially when coding the anti-dazzle lights!), Black wheels(what a pain to clean!!!!)/blue calipers, Heated Steering Wheel (a must!), Active Cruise Control (dont use), Parking Assistant (need to try this one too), Wireless Charging(it keeps coffee hot), Head-Up Display (pretty intrusive but now used to it), auto, Remote Start.

My car has been sitting at the NY/NJ port for almost two weeks. Most likely due to the MP HAS. The wait is killing me, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it though.

Also, do you have a manual with remote start and ACC? I didn’t think that was possible.

I've had my car a year. 12k miles. ZB. Manual. CF roof and trim. Shadowline. Lighting package. M Perf HAS. Black wheels. M color seats.

I'd have chosen black. Not because I don't ZB. I'd just always CHOOSE black. I took the HEA car anyway. How could I not

(M perf HAS installed after purchase)

I spec'd my manual G87 pretty bare bones.

BSM Color, Shadowline + Lighting Package, Parking Assistant (on a whim, haven't used it yet), and black wheels.

The only thing I would consider in changing if I were to do it over again would be opting for the bi-colors just for a little bit of contrast with the car being black and the overall maintenance for brake dust. I'll probably consider getting a new set of wheels when it's time to get new tires, but I might just learn to live with how it is now.
