They won’t be going any lower within the next few months. Just make sure you’re getting the buy rate. I’ve never leased an M car so don’t know the norms but I would go over to Leasehackr Forum https://forum.leasehackr.com/ and/or speak to a broker for insights. I would imagine just buying it and then selling it yourself in 3 years would probably yield a better result.

No it's just a high rate.
You must be thinking about Carvana.

Correct, same shit store different day.

You’re saying 4.5 is a high rate for a Used Car right now?

Just so we’re talking about the same thing, right now (this of course is my opinion, which clearly is just that), for the M2 it isn’t bad, based on (relative to) what the Finance rates BMWFS is offering. Again, I’ve never leased an M car, I’m speaking solely compared to the Financing offers.
Yes, you can lease an i4 35, an iX or a base 3 series for better but those aren’t M2s. BMW has no reason to offer better rates on them.

Please feel free to demonstrate why I’m incorrect as I’m always eager learn and grow as an individual and I’ll certainly eat my words.

5% is pretty inoffensive on an M car lease. I might switch to a lease if that's true.

0.00165 is buy rate. Your dealership can go up to 0.00205, which is what yours did. It's what my dealership does. The dealer makes money from this and most finance managers get their commission on this. It's pretty normal.

You can try to negotiate it, but my dealership will not. We sell everything at sell rate right now.

I went from Production Begins to Entering the Assembly Line today!

It skipped right over Exterior Body Assembly Begins and In the Paint Booth.

How long are y'all seeing to get through the assembly line?

Mine skipped over those steps too, this has been my timeline:

4/13/23 - Production Started
? - 151 Body Shop Started
? - 152 Paint Shop Started
4/14/23 - 153 - Assembly Started - Entering assembly line
4/14/23 - 154 - Assembly Started - Assembly in progress
4/17/23 - 155 - Quality Check

still in Quality Check as of this Morning

Order Now - update specifics later?

I was at local dealership for maintenance work and noticed a M2 on the floor and casually asked about the price. Story was that if I wanted to purchase this one off the floor it would be several thousand $'s above MSRP. But if I wanted to order one, (and wait for close to a year), then it would go at MSRP.

If I were to order one, and put down a deposit, do I need to specify everything at that point, or can I change things closer to delivery?

Right now, I don't like any of the colors available on M2's, but since if I order off the 2023 price list - I would probably be taking delivery of a 2024 model when my wait is over. Could I change other things from the 2024 build guide once that come out?

You change modify your build up to Production Begins (roughly two weeks before your Build Week), which is when you get your VIN

Will be interesting to see if you move out of it before me, been there since the 10th. Getting annoying. Hopefully they just haven’t updated it and it’s actually done and holding for transport.

If I remember correctly you are also doing PCD. I would imagine we will be on the same boat.

There are two boats going to Brunswick, one in port, the next should be in a few days.

I hope we make them. They seem quite backed up with produced cars awaiting transport.

Any Port options for you?

Has your CA given you any kind of estimated delivery timeframe?

I gave three dates in early June. Getting skeptical of making those based on what the G42 and G20 chaps are seeing.

He hasn't, PCD also told me they would give me dates when it got to the VPC in the US. Not sure why it's a bit different for mine vs yours.

Originally my dealer was trying to get out of doing PCD but I got them to agree to it by emailing PCD directly and then they looped my dealer in and suddenly it was all possible again.

Curious why they wouldn’t want you to do PCD, if anything it saves them a PDI but maybe they want the few dollars from BMW for that.

When I got my i4 last year, which came from Germany, they give me options when it got to the VPC. It was a different dealer in another state. Not sure why I was asked to pick so early this time.

I really hope we get on the Torino which is heading to Brunswick, but I doubt it.

As best I can tell they just didn't want to deal with the chance that I walked away from the purchase after it was sent there and they had to send it back. Also it sounds like some of their customers had delays associated with it and weren't happy.

Either way they tried to frame it like the PCD was the entity that was saying it might not be possible. So when I emailed them and they responded by CC'ing my CA instructions they didn't really have a way of saying no lol.
