Sport Seat Retrofit Questions
Hi guys. I have a 2011 328 with non-sport seats which, to my understanding, have active headrests. I am looking to retrofit sport seats into the vehicle and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) there is not fitment difference between pre-lci and lci seats, so I'm looking for sport seats from any e90 from 2006-2011. However, I don't know if the pre-lci (or even the lci) sport seats have active headrests. If not, if I install seats without active headrests into a vehicle that came with them, will codes be thrown? Do all sport seats have active headrests? If not, what year did they start equipping them? Thanks in advance if you can answer any of these questions!
EDIT: I know that non-sport seats were fitted with active headrests from 2009 onward, does this include sport seats? |

Found this thread that answers some of your questions:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=784905 I'd be leary of installing older safety equipment on your 2011. Ideally you would want 2011 sports seats. That being said, this is a safety item that might require some skill to remove and hook up. There are some YouTube videos on it. I have manual non-sport seats in mine and I would love to have manual sports seats, which are very rare.

I know for certain that seats of any style (base/sport/etc) had the AHR starting in at at least build date 2/09 for the E92 - as this is what my car has. AHR was not seat style specific...
I did entire M3 interior swap in my car, but made sure to choose interior WITH AHR to be compatible Yes, it will throw codes to install non AHR seats in a car originally equipped WITH AHR Yes, you can code out the AHR, but why would you want to delete a safety option?? Just find the correct seats

Yeah though its unadvisable I put in a set of 2008 seats in my 2011 e90. I had to have the active headrests coded out. It is doable but if you can find lci seats stick with those.

Codes will be thrown, you need a resistor in the bottom of the seat to close the loop. Because you no longer have active headrest it will throw a code.

I'm trying to do this by swapping 2006 sport seats into my 2011. I cannot get power to work though. How did you do this?

My LCI e90 has the standard electric seats. If I retrofit LCI sport seats, would I need to do additional wiring for lumbar and thigh controls to work?

From what I understand, yes. But it's not a bad job, just jump power from one one of the powered pins to the new ones.

I just swapped in seats from (what I was told) was a 2011. Everything works EXCEPT for the seat heaters. Lumbar and the adjustable bolsters worked without any changes to the wiring. I'm not sure what is up with the seat heaters. The seats are supposed to be heated but I'm still trying to figure out if that's true. The seat control modules are different from my stock seats. |

check the seat module connector side, if you have 2 emply slots without pins in them , then you have seats without heating
