Best E92/E93 pre-LCI angel eye LEDs which has same brightness for both rings
Hi, I am looking for E92 angel eye LED bulbs which would evenly light both rings and wont be too expensive.
Did anyone try and review the V-shaped ones? Last edited by Hotter; 01-15-2023 at 03:49 PM.. |

I heard they improve it but still the inner remains brighter. Maybe the LED on one arm can be adjusted with the angel to move it away from the inner to decrease brightness slightly?
The other option I thought with the standard type H8 LED would be to mask the LED one side |

See if you can adjust the V angle one side it might work well.
Also how about liquid mask maybe that might work I sold my old E90 and my current one is an upgrade but doesn't yet have Xenons till I retrofit them so I can't try it yet myself. |

This design above is about 8 years old if not older. They will be terribly inefficient and will barely light up the angel eyes at all. Its best to go with a proven product. Please take a look at our LUX H8 189 angel eyes in the vendor section. They are the brightest of all the angel eyes on the market

This is actually already in place. The angel of the LEDs uses the built in reflector to focus the light. The V shape is not necessary at all and actually less efficient. We have spent countless hours designing these to find the best solution |

I guess we just want to even out the brightness of the rings somehow |

Yes, I think its not the brightness which is the issue, the issue is how to have same brightness for both rings and also not exceed price tag of 200+ euro.
I think there are 2 ways to go:

Even our LUX h8 189 which are the equivalent of 189 watts of halogen light consume less power then stock still. |

I bought a pair of the v-shape angel eye LEDs to see if they do make a difference on the outer ring (for $20, why not). They don’t. They are actually worse than “normal” aftermarket LED angel eye lights. The shape doesn’t make sense for how the E90 LCI angel eyes are designed. Maybe they work with some other BMW model, but I doubt it (they are usually advertised to work with different BMW models across generations, which doesn’t make sense as the sizes and designs are different).
The only real solution to evenly light the rings from most viewing angles is to pop open the headlight and put in entirely new rings, which isn’t trivial to do. For something plug and play that is brighter and whiter than stock halogens (but not evenly lit), no-name LEDs on eBay or AliExpress work fine. There are tons of them out there and there is no meaningful difference in brightness between them and Lux. This is not a dig on Lux — the products are great and have lasted seven years. But you can get something that’s essentially the same brightness for 1/10th the price. Lux H8 160 on passenger side (left), generic “HochiTech” on driver side (right). I didn’t take a shot with the v-shape bulbs in, but they were substantially worse than either of these. Lux Generic Hardware Last edited by nthnthnthnth; 01-11-2023 at 10:36 AM.. |

Dont buy LUX bulbs, they are overpriced for what you get, you get overcharged for shipping if you live in Canada, and they don't last. Im back on this forum now to make a new thread to see what people are using for bulbs now days cause one of my almost $270 LUX bulbs (approx total including shipping) have now quit after 1 1/2 years of use.
Tell me when the bulbs in a brand new car have quit in such a short amount of time? They never do, and its because these LUX bulbs are not different that all of the lower priced alternatives out there. |

The generic one (all black color) has 12 LEDs per bulb. The Lux one (silver in the middle) has 8. This is the page for them, but as you mention there are many others on AliExpress and I doubt there's much difference among them: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256801817975836.html |

Another thing to keep in my opinion is the fade on/off which the ones with drivers like the LUX have can't offer they just pulse
