2011 LCI standard to sport seats = no heat?

Hi everyone,

I bought a set of sport seats that were allegedly from a 2011 335i. They’re supposed to be heated, but when swapped into my car the heat doesn’t work.

All the other functions work fine - adjustment, lumbar, and bolsters.

My non-sport seats had all the options as well - heat, memory, and lumbar.

Is there a way to tell if the sport seats I bought are actually heated?

I also noticed that the seat module is different from the one on my factory non-sport seats.

the pin locations are identical between the two sets of seats.

Hmm… I guess this is a bit of a mystery?

On the positive side, I have a windows laptop coming today, so I’ll be able to install ISTA and have access to wiring diagrams and so forth.

The seats are definitely LCI as they have the extra headrest connector, and the steering wheel (from the same car) is heated, so the seats pretty much have to be heated… I would think.

My guess is that I have to code in the different modules for the seat heating to work.

Sounds like your new seats aren't heated. There is zero coding to do for seat heating to work.

Did you happen to take a peak under the seat for the heated seat module before install? If it's there, then you might have to repin some wires to get heat to work, or the module is bad. Really shouldn't have to however.

Simple way would be to confirm via the VIN of the donor car.
