Thermostat EGR Query

Hi all

I have discovered that my 2008 Pre-LCi E90 325d M Sport is running very cool with coolant temp only reaching between 65-74 degrees. Also my MPG is only around 38.7mpg which seems low especially seeing its been remapped for a better power/fuel consumption map.

So I believe my main thermostat has failed and is stuck open so am planning to replace over next few days.

My query today is do I need to examine or change my egr thermostat, please note that I have carried out an EGR delete and blanked off the exhaust feed to the original EGR.

Does this make the egr thermostat useless now as there is no egr for it to cool??

Thanks in advance

The small thermostat is responsible for the car getting over 77 degrees. After that, big one takes care.
