Besides that, to make the car as I would like it to be, I would have to spend thousands of bucks, be illegal and lose the warranty.
And I am still not sure I would be 100% satisfied.

I think your last paragraph is the most telling one. Since you don't need an all-rounder, you are outside of the M2's target audience. It is what it is.

And yeah, I'm glad I'm in the US where I don't have to deal with ANY of that mandatory nannie crap, or that hideous license plate holder.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that. I was expecting the EU treatment and have to do a pre-flight check list at every start up.
