Another fun day of cleaning. Took off all four wheels to thoroughly clean them and hit the calipers and springs while I was at it.

Yep! Should be good until the weekend, so long as I don't drive it.

Unfortunately I had my second flat tire in three months... Hit a small piece of metal while driving on Hwy 17 in the Bay Area and the tire lost all the pressure within a minute.

Wish me better luck for the next three months.

Easy install and great quality product.
Do you have a driving video yet? Your rev video sold me 95%. I was already in talks with IRL to do the full system with valve controller, when I originally wanted an AA EL only, but thinking of doing IRL midpipe only. Thanks

Is there a reason to choose a fixed spring kit versus any HAS aside from the hardware price difference? I imagine the labor cost/difficulty of install is basically the same.

Speaking of, what's the going rate folks have been paying for these suspension swaps? I noticed the OEM HAS kit lists an 8 hour job.

When I got my coilovers on my F87 & springs on my JCW, all quotes were coming in around the same price point - $1100-$1500, including the alignment. I picked the best shop, who was right in the middle.

Put the Rear TLG Mudflaps on. With 18mm spacers they’re necessary. Already had the fronts on.

FYi, no need to remove wheels or even lift up a lowered car. I used their provided longer screw for the bottom hole and reused the OEM short screw and washer for the top. To access the screw in the tight space between the tire and fender, I used a small Philips bit clamped in small vice grips took like 10 min.

I chose fixed because I knew the height was perfect for me, no need to spend more on HAS. I drive a lot and just can't be that precious with it. Crappy roads and speed bumps around here. I paid $1000 CAD (approx $750 USD) including tax for install and alignment.

Plus, all the money you’ll save with not being able to adjust it.

If you can adjust it at home, you save labour on that, but you pay $250 or more to align it every time you change the height, so it’s a costly proposition if you think you’ll be adjusting it all the time.

If you’re happy with the height proposed by the springs, set it and forget it.

I’ve had coilovers before and am on a different boat of wanting no adjustability now.

My car was back on the dyno today. Things went much better this go around. Huge shoutout to Autocraft for getting everything sorted out and Mike Botti for taking a second swing at it.

The car made 741whp and 644wtq on the daily flex fuel map on E78. The kill map is even more spicy, but I'm keeping quiet for now.

Picking it up on Thursday.

Nice. You need that trans tune to get the torque maxing sooner.

After driving a Ferrari 488 Pista last Friday I am slowly adjusting back to my M2. Sorry, that sounds like bragging but if you ever get a chance to drive a Ferrari you have to do it. It made me feel like I was actually a good driver. I also got some laps in a C8 and an AMG GTR (felt wrong driving a Mercedes but that was a very unique car).

I setup an appt for next week to get my summer tires back on the car and have some 15mm and 18mm spacers on order. Looking forward to the new stance. I'm debating on getting some rear mudflaps, and then possibly getting a JB4 or Racechip piggyback later this summer. I don't know though. 3rd gear over 4k rpm's is already scary enough in my 6mt, and 1st/2nd gear are reasonable with the stock tune.

I've driven the AMG GTR at an AMG track day and then drove a 911 GT3RS on a separate track day. The AMG was a great car and sounded amazing, but it felt like a fast luxury car. The GT3 RS was a whole different animal and would let you fuck up quick.

Was the Ferarri forgiving or a little scary like the GT3 RS?

The Ferrari is a way more forgiving car and much harder to get squirrelly. The traction control has a lot more intervention including limiting engine power until the steering wheel is pointing the car straight.

I drove a GT3 RS in 2022 on the same track and there were a couple moments where the rear end was breaking loose and surprised me. The Ferrari also felt very connected with the steering and tires on the road, and reminded of the feeling when I drove the GT3 RS. I was planning to drive a GT2 RS for 5 laps but my instructor talked me out as it is a harder car to drive fast for a novice driver. That allowed me to get in the AMG for 10 laps (since the GT2 was a higher price) and that's when I really got some confidence on the track and started to push.

The Pista and the GT3 RS are the best cars I have ever experienced.
