I have a Blue M240 lol do we know each other? One of the sales guys has one as well. I'm not familiar with anyone else who ordered blue, but that doesn't mean they're not out there.

Oddly enough this morning on my way to work I saw a black 230i M-sport loaner from habberstad with the giant banner on the back window. Wonder if it was the same older couple.

Just spotted a BG M240i at the Lowe’s in my little wisconsin town. First I’ve seen in the area so I’m hyped to have a buddy when mine is finally delivered. Had road America plates too!

I don’t think they are making many. We are lucky we got this new generation at all. BMW is probably loosing money on this car. It is at the very least a risk for them. They can make another cross-over or SAV and know they will sell them all day. With these it’s a very niche market. I think those of us on this forum may get a slanted view of the real world as it pertains to our cars since everyone here is at least somewhat of an enthusiast.

I spotted a white 230i in Miami, South Beach early February. Caught another one, 230i, in downtown Raleigh NC about a week ago. Haven't seen an M240i in the wild yet other than the one I test drove at the dealer in Raleigh.

Can't wait to be one of the rare and the few

BMW made less then 4,000 2-series in 2022, USA Market. And that includes the 228i, m235i, the 230i and the M240i.
In comparison they made something like 500k X5.

So yeah, the G42 is a rare vehicle

Heck, even the C8 Corvette sold 25,831 units in 2022 and I still see very few of those out and about.

Definitely not disputing the rareness of the car. The post above mine stated that BMW made a little less than 4 thousand 2 series cars across the whole 2 series model line for the U.S. market. That doesn't appear to be the case if you believe anything on the internet.

I’ve yet to see a G42 in the flesh. I see a couple F87s a month for comparison.

Interesting

This thread is more interesting than I ever thought it would be.
First, we are old couple in Michigan with a M240 !
Since were waiting for >6 Months for a car and there are not any on dealers' lots it seems rarer than other cars of this type. The factory is pumping everyday somebody is buying them. Overseas hot car ?

Just curious

I only know because I visited Bay Shore when I was shopping around. I ended up buying out of state but I have a blue one as well.

I live in SE Michigan and in a 3 mile radius there are 3 2Series.

Mine M240i in Blue
Another M240i with almost exact same spec
And a White 230.

We're such trend setters

Also in SE MI with a BG 240, and another BG 240 that parks right next to mine! Only other 2 series I’ve ever seen in MI tbh.

Edit: Literally just after posting this I saw a lady driving another BG 240… Welp!

I got my information my the link below 👇 , but after checking a second time I realized I was reading only the 4th quarter numbers.

Not to mention I completely mis-remembered those numbers at that.

I just spent roughly 5 days in SoCal from SD up to LA and everywhere in between, and never saw a single G42. I saw more Toyota Mirais in the Disneyland parking garage than I saw G42s.

I'm in Utah County, and don't make it up your way too often. I was by the Vivint Arena last week, though.

I'm thinking about making a trip to the Flats once the weather decides what it wants to do for more than 3 days straight. We should see who else is around the area and try to get a group of us to go.

The Utah crowd is active on this thread recently.

There is a TNM that rolls around downtown periodically. A member of the CCA has a very nice Portimao Blue example. And a wonderful retired gentleman has a Brooklyn Grey example in Ogden.

They're around, but not common.
