BC's 'Extreme Low' & Megan camber arms installed - *Update with rolling vid 2nd page*
So I got 2 parcels last Thursday which is always exciting!!
the contents looked like this.. have had my car on coilovers near enough since I got it but the were cheap fk's that just don't suit the way I have my car sitting which caused a lot of rubbing and having to raise the rear up which I didn't like so I ordered up a set of bc's.. they're the 'extreme low' kit with stiffer spring rates of 10kg/mm and 14kg/mm. My bro has had bc's in his e60 since he got it so I know they ride well, along with all the good reviews they always get. I always wanted the camber adjustment at the front which would pair up well with the Megan adjustable camber arms I got for the rear. So I installed everything with a bit further to wind down on the coils so I could take a few measurements and set how much lower I’d like to go.. ended up maxing the coils out and the rear is sitting perfect, but disappointed in the front! Just doesn’t sit as low as I thought it would being the ‘Extreme Low’ kit. This is a pic after install, bare in mind the front is lower looking as it’s sitting off the curb but it’s the arch gap, I wanted to have the front sitting the same as the rear as it was perfect. So I took out one of the collars to try squeeze a little extra drop in, but obviously it’s minimal. I didn’t want to take anymore collars out as the top one is the perch for the spring and the lower one has a taper on the bottom of it to sit perfectly into the shock cartridge. Will get some proper shots over this weekend hopefully – Rears are now perfectly flush with the camber on them and fronts are cambered in more, not sure of the specs though as I still need to get my alignment done. EDIT: Forgot to post a pic of the car. As mentioned before, sitting front off curb so not actually as low as this, want the arch gap on the front to match the rear which I think is sitting perfect. Now have one collar out from what it is above.

Need to see pics of the car!
I've just installed the standard BC's on mine. Fronts are wound all the way down but would like a little more. |

I have the extreme loweeing version too considering the style of ring you have on the front. I have the exact same to work with my static+
Get some pics up now!!! Youd be surprised how much more it will drop over a 3 weeks or so |

And I didn't even think they would bed in much Josh since the spring rates are quite high and the coilovers are decent but you think the front will?? Quote:
Also, can you tell from the pics which way the arms should be fitted? I have the side with the megan sticker on the inside on both sides

They should settle enough to get the desired look you are shooting for mate
Please get a pic of how your car is sitting on a flat surface |

Will watch the rear over the next week or so and if it drops I'll fire it back up a little to what it's like now

this is mine, the tapered end goes onto the spindle. you can get about -5.5, if you go past -3.5 you will need toe arms to compensate. and believe me im always trying to compensate

Thanks man, it's 1000x better.. No comparison whatsoever. The last one were fine with my previous rims but with these it was terrible to drive, and the bc's just feel so much more solid.. def get what you pay for in this case. Thanks guys! And yeh, I want about another 5-10mm on the front but it's as low as it'll go without me taking the other two collars out! Cheers, and yeh it will be.. if you're use to driving low it's manageable but more hassle than it's worth for some people. Back when I had the hamann splitter it near enough touched the ground and I managed it ok

HAHAHA THATS SO LOW ALREADY!!!!
I think you should raise the rear to match the front!!! How the hell are you not rubbing lol I already rub on my rears as the tyres hit the arch liner. Dont listen to me though...I am just messing, I am all for crazy static lows and think this rocks!!! It will go a little lower even with the stiffer spring rates. So dont worry just yet. Give it a week or three as it does take time... Also, do not remove any more collars, according to the master designer, you can not remove any more without causing damper damage. BUT there is one way you can find out. If you want to know, lets have a chat over the phone again as it is the only easy way to explain. But it may be possible, it is just no one has done it. Looking awesome MARK!!!!! |
