>>E & F Series Coding Services << | DVD In Motion & More
E Series Remote Coding Services Top Gear Solutions is now offering remote coding services to compliment our line of performance parts. The list below is only a sample of the options available. To inquire about a remote session email me your requested options, year, model and last 7 of VIN at coding@topgearsolutions.com. Please review our Q and A below to answer some of the questions you may have. Standard Features:
Q: Will coding void my warranty? A: No... Coding only unlocks those features that came disabled from the factory. When BMW connects to your car during a service appointment, the vehicle will appear to have came from the factory coded with the option(s) you have selected. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Will I ever lose my coded options? A: Possibly... If BMW updates any of your modules during a service appointment, those modules that were updated will reset those options back to factory defaults. This can easily be re-coded by contacting us. You could also let your Service Adviser know not to update your module's software when dropping off car (if you're not there for issues that could possibly require software updates to resolve your issues). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What operating system is required? A: Windows operating system is required for the software we use during coding. It can be Windows XP through Windows 10 (32 or 64 bit), and can be used on a MAC as long as you are running a Windows OS in a virtual machine. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What hardware is required? A: You will need a KDCAN Cable, and external power supply if advanced flashing or several options are being provided. For the KDCAN cable, we recommend that we provide you with one of our loaner cables unless discussed with us prior to ensure that a working cable is available during the session. We will also discuss with you if an external power supply is necessary for your job. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I don't have a KDCAN cable, can you provide one? A: Yes, we have loaners that can be mailed to you using USPS priority mail. For our non-US customers, we can provide a customers with a custom shipping quote based on the shipping speed you desire. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What program is used to offer remote assistance? A: We use a program called Team Viewer to connect and control your PC/MAC while using BMW Standard Tools. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What hours are available to provide remote coding? A: Depending on your location, coding may need to be accomplished during the evening/night hours. The specific time window can be determined once you are ready to get scheduled for a coding session. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What other requirements are needed to ensure a successful session? A: Ensure that you have a strong and dependable internet connection at your car either by LAN or wireless. Constant disconnection with the client can diminish the remote coding experience. Only the software and data provided during scheduling will be utilized by the coder. All previous versions may need to be uninstalled if all required software features are not present. I can vouch for Joe and his coding abilities. I had him do a bunch of stuff for me after I found his rate to be more than reasonable. I have absolutely no knowledge of coding, and that's fine. A working laptop with an internet connection and he handles the rest. Can't beat sitting in your own garage and having somebody else do the work, no need to drive to somebody else to have them code for you and it was done within a week of purchase. Convenient and affordable, can't beat it!

I cannot thank Joe enough for what he has done for me and my car today. From the first email we exchanged to the last, he's been nothing but professional. Usually I like to take matters into my own hands when it comes to my car but coding is something that I've always been afraid of. In fact, when Joe remoted into my laptop, we found out I had a bad or useless version of the software so he had to get everything installed correctly all over again. Despite the delay, he was extremely courteous and communicated every single step of the process.
If you have any simple or complex coding needs, do not hesitate and contact Joe. His prices are more than reasonable and you will not be disappointed with his work! Thanks again Joe. |

I want to send out a big thanks to Joe@TopGearSolutions for his remote coding services.
A while back, I swapped out the rear view for one with home link, compass and auto dim. I also swapped out the side view mirrors for ones that fold and auto dim. Joe coded in my the auto-dimming for the rear view and side mirrors, activated the fold-in feature for my side mirrors, activated the digital speedometer, enabled the mirror fold when pressing and holding the lock button, as well as enabling the windows up / down by pressing and holding the lock/unlock button on the remote. The process was really simple and there was great communication throughout. I recommend TopGearSolutions for your remote coding services. They're professional and provide great service at reasonable price. Thanks again Joe. Last edited by Operator Mo; 05-11-2016 at 11:27 PM.. |

Instead of doing it remotely, we met in a place closeby since we lived relatively close and I was able to see how things were done. While there, he asked if there were other things that I wanted done to the car that could be helpful. Definitely would recommend to others and do future business with. Thanks Joe!

I bought a $200 set of angel eyes and was disappointed to find that only one worked. I swapped the bulbs to find that the passenger side was no longer getting power. After everything was installed, Joe patiently put up with my crappy connection and had my light back on in less than 5 mins from the other side if the country. Plus now I have the setup should anymore problems occur. Definitely worth the money!

It's been said several times already in this thread, but Joe is great! He coded BT and SOS error from when I had to swap out my radio. He was very flexible on schedule and right on time. He got everything working nicely.
Thanks Joe!! Travis |

Many Thanks to Joe @ Topgear!
I am a Cobb user and as we all know with Cobb, the DME is very picky. Joe flashed the PPK with an older version of the DME that was still compatible with Cobb. I was worried I may not br able to ppk flash my car Love the exhaust aspects of the PPK I get to keep and reflash back to cobb. Lots of pops and gurlges Thank you again to Joe Joe@TopGearSolutions

Got my PPK Flashed by Joe a few weeks ago. Was mailed a cable and a CD, loaded everything up and was done before I finished a cup of coffee. Just set my JB4 to Map 0 and followed his instructions. Smooth as can be.

Got my PPK Flashed by TopGearSolutions today. There were a few files missing from the download. They transferred the files over that were missing and got it flashed in no time. Responded quickly to my emails and got the flash done in a short amount of time after all the hiccups. Would recommend them to anyone to do the flash.

Had the PPK flash done by Joe the other night and it was top notch. Super simple on my end and well worth the price. I won't look anywhere else for any coding needs that pop up in the future.

Smooth
Chiming in here to praise the efficient job that Joe did hooking me up with the Aplina flash. It didn't take very long at all.
Ever since MHD came out with their N54 flash tune I have been using it, and now that MHD offers a tweak of their MHD flash to suit a car that has the Alpina flash...it's a no-brainer!! Thanks for your efforts Joe. I really like how my car just keeps getting better with age |
