I’m doing an oil pan gasket and it seems the kit is missing from my trunk with the tow hook. Is there anyone in the columbus area who would be willing to lend it for a day or two? Thanks.

You have a 17 year old BMW, so you probably just need to buy a tow hook. You'll likely need it for much more than just holding up the engine to do a pan gasket.
