Aftermarket Radio for 2010 E93
I recently purchased an aftermarket radio from "Europe Joying" and everything is supposed to be plug and play. This was not the case, I noticed the wiring harness was missing 3 prongs. And when I plugged in the radio everything worked except sound, does anyone know where I can get the right wiring harness? Another thing I would like to point out is this radio went in my previous 08 E90 and worked just fine. I only had to modify the climate control a little. I reached out to the seller and they said it's because of the oem amplifier that's in the E93. If someone could please provide a link to a harness that will make the sound work that would be greatly appreciated!

If you are replacing a whole head unit in a BMW there are some things
you have be aware of and possible side effects to . You have to know which system you are starting out with as the wiring is not the same and in the Logic 7 system the output of the Head Unit to the amplifer is done via a proprietary fiber optic system called the Most Bus System . To get and aftermarket Head unit to work with a Most Bus system you need a analog to Most adapter. Also since the alarms are handled by the Head unit you will often need a Wiring Harness to take care of that function such as a Connects 2 . In addtion options that require the Most Bus such as SOS may throw codes since and aftermarket system breaks the Most Bus. Things like PDC may cease to work . When you go to BMW to have them perform diagnostics they may refuse service because the car is not in the original configuration and they cannot update the car because there updating software will choke if the car is not in the original configuration. No go without and analog to Most Bus connector on Logic 7 on a Most bus based car . All US cars have Most Bus not sure about Euro cars. Agree with ctuna. You'll probably need something like:
https://www.amazon.com/Eonon-Optical...7J4P4XDF&psc=1 to get sound. Note as this is stereo-only -- you'll lose 'fader' capability between front and back speakers (both will work -- but at the same volume). Also you'll get an 'SOS' error that either you live with or get coded out. I had mine coded out. - andy |
