Need help deciding between Melbourne Red and Portimao Blue

Love both these colors. If you've got one of these colors, please post some pictures to help me decide!

Blue would be my choice between the two, but you would probably see less red in the wild.

All subjective of course, you may have opposite instincts/opinions than me. You do you.

I have Thundernight, which I love. But Portimao Blue would have been second choice for me.

The red seems to be a relatively bright red, which is a little too "look at me" for my taste. The one red car I've had in the past (Volvo XC40) was a bit darker red. It also had a contrasting black roof, toning down the red in a good way.

Another thing that stands out to me with the lighter colors is the lower front fascia. Where the outer intakes leave a gap at the bottom (like in the pic below) that is not my favorite design element. This gap is muted in the darker colors.

Then depending on which you select, the Cerium Gray v Black (Shadowline option) trim and/or wheels would be the next debate for you. I have the Cerium Gray trim/wheels (792M) that I think are great with the Thundernight.

But with a Blue or Red exterior, the black trim/wheels might be a better look. Just something else to focus on in you Google image searching if you haven't already decided that part ... the trim/wheel combos with either the Blue or Red.

Portimao. It's such an amazing color and changes between deep purple and bright blue. I wish I had it on my G87.

Here are two pictures of my former M240i that somewhat show how deep this color is, but you really need to see it in person.

OP here. This thread hasn't really helped me because all of these cars look great. Thanks for all the pics.

I really think these are the two best colors for the M240i. I guess I'll have to flip a coin.

A good tie breaker is what interior color do you want and what is a better combo? I was dead set on cognac, which pushed me to red as the better pairing. Good luck with your choice. If you flip a coin and then want to re-flip, you’ve already made your decision.

My car is Portimao blue.

In the flesh it looks far more impressive than in photographs.

The blue contrast stitching works well with the portimau blue, just saying!

Though if they had saddle brown interior available, I would've gone with red. The cognac was a little too orange than tan for my liking.
