Hi all,

Just saw that there's no increased speed limiter on my build. I got the performance runflat. Does that not come with the increased speed? Thanks!

High Performance tire package comes with increased speed limiter as well as coding for increased cooling, as well as 245 width tires up front. I think it's the ZTK package at $2500 US.

You don't need to order that to get the increased limiter. Just get one of the no-cost performance / staggered size options and you will get the increased limiter.

You will be getting the option 840 (High speed limiter) added when you get the performance tires. The list on mybmw app sometimes takes a while to reflect the updates. Your CA should be able to confirm looking in his portal as well.

Thanks! Yea It's weird. On website I can see It's performance run flat tires but on the build sheet my dealer sent me there's no increased limiter.

I'd check with the dealer to confirm it's right. You can also look at the order guide (see stickied post) to confirm you picked a wheel/tire combo that includes it. Search for "will add 840 to the order".

The "no additional cost" tire wheel options (US Order form) are impressive in the range of choices, far more than i have seen from other manufacturers.

Some things are a bit weird tho. There are 4 choices for performance tires (non-all season), 1PW, 1VX,1VY, and 1VZ. What is weird is that the only one of these (1VZ) that gives you the wider 245 series front tires does not show a 840 increased top speed limiter? All the other performance tire options do show the 840 increased speed limiter. I wonder if this is just an omission error in the order sheet? Perhaps like the 1VY option that has 19" wheels but specs a 18" tire for those wheels, that will be interesting to see how they get those 18" tires on the 19" wheels?

What I got is 1PP lol. That one also does not come with increased top speed. Feel like I made a mistake. Not that I'd go that fast but would like to have the option

oops, correction to my above post. I overlooked one (the 1PP option) so there are 5 performance tire/wheel no cost options, 2 of them do not list the 840 increased speed limiter (1PP and 1VZ)

I optioned 1VZ and it does show the 840 listed on my order. Having said that, others on the forum seem to think (I think they might be right) we only get 225's on the front similar to 1VX,1VY and the order guide is incorrect. Ive called Genius multiple times and my CA also said it will come with 245's.

It would be a bonus if I get 245's but I guess I just have to wait to see when my car eventually comes in.

Looks like you needed to go for 1VX to get the increased limiter with the same wheels. You wouldn't get run flats that way, but some of us would consider that a huge improvement.

I also optioned 1PP specifically to get the top speed limiter removed. Its the same tires and sizes. Why do we not get the option....

It's not the same tires, they're run flats. And it's not really about the size, it's about the speed rating, which I assume is different for the different tires.

The cerium gray wheel 1PW has all same specs but it comes with increased speed limit

No clue. It's certainly weird. Still, I'd take 1VX if you can still change it. Run flats have left me stranded more often than regular tires anyway.
