All I can suggest is try it.
Depends what you mean by “too small over time”. It’s the same size car as a 4.

As said M cars are different and more expensive than just the purchase price.

I had to pay £550 extra for adaptive suspension mine.

Standard on M340i though.

No. He means 340.
It may have changed on the 240 - or I’m just mistaken. But I’m sure I didn’t pay for it on the 240.

How big of a difference in price of ownership with m car? Insurance etc.
I don't how costs translate to the US but the M4 needed a running in service which the 240 doesn't. The 240 services are cheaper ( esp the 4 yr service if you keep it that long which is very expensive on the M4)

The recommended fuel for the 240 is 95 RON whilst for the M4 it was 98 RON which costs a minimum of 7p per litre extra (and often far more).

The best I ever got out of the M4 on a long run was 36 mpg (UK gals) whilst I've had 44 mpg (UK) from the 240 for the same journey and driving similarly.

The insurance is less and the 240 cost me £20k less to buy in 2023 than the M4 did in 2019!

Haha I did the same thing on a road trip to AR, got up to an average of 47.8 mpg (!)

Yes. £550 option for 2023 M240i but standard, I believe, on the M340i.
