Code 2A17 = Failing DMTL pump?
Scanned with BT tool and got this code. Does this code mean it ran diagnostics or it ran it and the pump failed the test? I get no SES or CEL.
BTW: I also did a Google search. |

They have been known to fail too. If it comes back, take to dealer.

What do I say to the dealer? I scanned it with BT tool and saw this code? LOL
Or I say something like "I don't notice the whiny sound in the trunk after I turn off the car anymore"? |

I get that code every so often and its when fueling my car....Happens when the gas doesn't fill up and the gas nozzle keeps clicking off and I would have to press it only half way to fill the car....As soon as this happens I get that code...I clear the code and my next gas fill up is normal...Not sure if its related to anything with the exhaust flap like the OP stated

Just a few months ago started having random problems with fill ups. Thought it was the gas pump causing the problem. There was never a CEL associated w/ the fill ups. Ran a BT scan today & got a 2A17 that was old, but never got a warning light.. |

One member took out the DMTL pump and used an air compressor to clean it out and it fixed it for him. Apparently it's very easy to access (like 30 minutes with a jack) and in the left rear bottom of the car behind a plastic panel. I'll try to clear the code, refill gas, and BT scan again. Hopefully this will be useful info for future reference. This DMTL pump is another epic fail for our car. |

What is that whiny sound? I'm pretty sure it was the fan on my amp, or what ever is on driverside under the carpet/panel... in trunk
