carbon build up cleaning question - blast from square or round hole?

reposting because by accident i posted in a reply vs new post.....

i bought the shop vac adapter with the square hole from bavauto and the wand with slight bend.

when walnut blasting can i blast from the round hole and suck out from the square hole? the various cbu threads do not seem to address this question

i plan to close the valves and check with borescope.

then scrape all the crap off the intake and walnut blast only the valves.

is there a preferred access? from the square hole or round or both?

since i only have the square shop vac attachment, i plan to make a plate with hole large enough to access the round side and blast away with the vacuum on the square side. will this work? if i come from the square side, i will use the hole that is provided . . make sense? or am i missing some trick?

with egr coded out and crank case vent by passed to catch can, i hope to have much cleaning intake. currently more than 50% blocked. hoping for a little more pop and better gas mileage with the cbu cleaned... and found the source of my turbo vacuum leak... old seals which i'll be replacing also - between the cracked crank case vent hose and the intercooler to throttle body leak... what a black sticky mess in the engine bay!
