Not really news. The launch of the car is in October with December production.

Up to the dealer when they can start taking preorders. Most already have.

A day after the F87 M2 was premiered in Autumn 2015, the car could be ordered at BMW M dealerships. But no deliveries were allowed by BMW HQ prior to April 16, 2016 (there were some very rare exceptions bypassing the embargo).

The G87 M2 is rumored to be premiered on Wednesday October 12, 2022. So normally G87 M2 orders will be possible from Thursday Oct 13, 2022 onwards at BMW M dealerships. Production starts in December 2022 but no deliveries will be allowed till someday in April 2023.

I keep hearing on these forums that the "Competition" version won't be available right away. Is that accurate? It'll just be the base M2 to start?

No one knows officially but that's the way it's looking.

Was thinking the same today. We're inside of 50 days and we're getting less info and leaks. I chalked it up to impatience on my end. Let's hope there's no delays. The SOC has been moved before…
