Adding coilovers - yes or no

I have one year left on the lease for my 2011 335xi. And I really have the itch to put on a set of KW v1 coilovers (wish I had done this a year ago).

Before doing this, I wanted to hear from the people who went this route, and see if it really makes as much as a difference I think it will.

Thanks,

George

Huge difference imo especially for xi models. The look and performance upgrades is significant.

The expenses to purchase/install is pretty high for one year of use

If you can accept that then you'll love it. I have an xi and the difference is incredible.

You definitely won't regret it..but it'll be a pain in the ass in the end to re-sell those coils sine the xi models are a bit more rare..unless of course in the UK it's different.

Thanks for the comments. I think I am going to go for it.

I realize that it will cost a decent amount of money to do this for only a year, but there are worse ways to spend that money.

Life is too short to not do something that will make you happy.

I'll post some pics after the work gets done.

I guess it will come down to driving enjoyment vs money involved considering the lenght of time you'll enjoy it. If I will to decide, YES!!! It's all worth it!

I disagree. I believe a lot of people will be begging to purchase a 1 year old used set of KW V1s. Yes, he will take a few hundred dollar loss on them but for the 1 year of use and satisfaction...no brainer imo.

OP...I would reach out to DaveCDM (username??) to have him install them for you since he would have a competitive install rate.

Now go purchase them!

I am hoping that you are correct.

I have already reached out to Dave and asked him for a date on which he could do the install. I will purchase the kit from Tiago at VRSF.

It looks like they are going for $1,650 so you should be able to sell them for at least $1,000. So you take a $600-$700 hit at most.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Put the rears all the way down and the front all the way less about an inch. That's how I have mine setup and its perfect. Took me a few adjustments to get there because I thought it would be too low, but it's not.

Did you guys change your settings for the winter?

I go back to the stock 17" tires with snows and was wondering what everybody does.

I don't know, wheels aren't tucked in the front or back

It was still a considerable drop compared to stock height

I started with the front at 1 finger gap and the rears were tucked but I didn't like it so I had the rears changed to 1 finger gap as well. Love the look!

I leave mine as is for winter. I put 189s back on with winters and call it a day. No problem at all with the height
