330d e92 brake light warning issue

Hi all,

I’ve got a 2008 330d e92 and its computer is showing a fault with the rear left and rear right brake light.
All the lights work correctly.
All of the rear lights other than the indicators were converted to LED and had no issues and no warning lights for over 2 years.
After this problem appeared recently, I swapped them all back to standard incandescent bulbs, but I still get the same error.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Not BMW related but on my previous Audi TT one of the lamp holders started to get some surface rust on the contacts which affected the resistance of the circuit and caused a blown bulb warning.

Have you checked all your lamp holders? Any visible rust? Just a thought based on previous experience

Thanks Russ, I've checked all the contacts and they look good.
No rush or corrosion visible.

Anything else I should try?

I had this issue also. It happened after trying to start with a very low battery on an automatic car, so pressing the brake to start.

All the lights worked fine, all I could think of was the brake force display circuit may have been damaged on mine during the fluctuation in power while having the brake lamps illuminated.

Any chance you might have had similar circumstances?

Thanks Havana.

I had the dashboard fuse go recently after charging the battery. Then very shortly afterwards I got the warning messages about the bulbs.

So did you repair the 'brake force display circuit', if so how?
