They are just overlays. What the rear is on the side is the reflector insert removed completely then a new one inserted with a lip that follows the bottom. Look at the pictures it is clear as day.

Why would they do a whole new bumper? Makes zero sense. A whole new diffuser like the other cars and the is one? Makes way more sense.

Is the front bumper a new one or are they inserts too?
Wait, so you're saying the bumper is the same but the black pieces are just plastic stuck on?
I'm done with M-Performance.
You could be right but from really looking it makes more sense for all the trims to pop out and be replaced with M stuff. I think we'll know for sure when the parts are order able and see if it is in fact an insert or whole bumper. I'm leaning towards insert based on what I said plus it's easier to sell an insert than a whole bumper

Really loving the styling of this new m2. Especially the rear design. It reminds me of one of my favourite cars of all time.

based on 666m they will be boat anchors and giant pia to clean
Are you saying that bc of their size or weight? The 1000M wheels will actually 7-10 lbs less than the stock 930M wheels if they are truly cast as they are rumored to be. So id think they should improve performance but I'm sure ride quality may take a hit.

930M wheels don't look all that easy to clean either.

Lol. Tough crowd…

I guess it's only tough when it comes to Japanese cars. Seems like German cars get lots of latitude.

Also, interesting that a poor German design is called "Asian".

Anyway, back to the M2. Looks fine in Red. Better in white. Those gold wheels look goofy.

It definitely looks like someone forgot to remove all of the Nurburgring camouflage from this car. What a heavy handed approach to aero, and yes the rear is atrocious and the front is barely acceptable. Seriously, don't give this car a mirror, it will run away from itself

If you go up in wheel diameter you will come down in tyre profile eg. 19" rim with 35 series tyres will change to 20" rim with 30 series tyres etc. thus they will be a similar overall diameter.
Also going up in size does not mean extra weight, thats a generalised statement that is no longer valid to modern wheel manufacture. It depends on the individual style & construction method of each wheel.
If you like the bigger size go for it & i bet you will notice no detremint to performance whatsoever.
The only downside to going to a larger diameter rim is you will have a lower profile tyre (as explained above) thus the ride will be firmer, however the upside is shorter sidewalls so better handling. Keep in mind again this is very dependant on tyre construction etc.
For the record i have 18", 19" & 20" wheels for my F87 (below). The 18" for track use simply due to semi slick availability, the 19" came new with the car & the 20" are my road wheels…i can honestly say the tyres obviously make a big difference to the driving (construction not diameter) but the wheels make virtually no difference at all.

The only downside to going to a larger diameter run is you will have a lowrr profile tyre (as explained above) thus the ride will be firmer, however the upside is shorter sidewalls so better handling. Keep in mind again this is very dependant on tyre construction etc.

Thanks for that info. Very helpful.

I also see that the 20/21" 1000M wheels come with 30 and 25 tire profiles. 30s already felt like rubber bands that I can't even imagine what 25s are like. I guess these new suspensions are so good that they can dampen the effect of such a short sidewall…

I like the carbon inlays on the front bumper, the wing and the rear diffuser, but the rest is questionable imo.

Exactly, believe it or not many cars (such as my 275R (below) which is on Ohlins suspension & has 19" for track & 20" for road use) actually ride better on lower profile tyres due to the suspension being better suited to that setup. There is no hard & fast rule so dont listen to people that make generalised statements.
I recall back in the 1980's fitting 16" rims to a car which came fitted with 14" & it was going to make the car undrivable according to many self apointed "experts".
The same thing applied in the 90's when i fitted 18" rims to a car that came with 15" & the same "experts" were wrong again.
In another 5 years it will be 22" rim arguments. The point is tech in cars/suspension/tyres continually moves on.
Just stating a certain rim size (insert whatever size is too big this month) is too heavy or not good for a certain car is laughable & frankly amatuerish.

I believe these wheels weigh low to mid 20s which is a fair amount less than what the stock wheels will weigh.

looks great, maybe a 3rd car to punish on track. DCT only, a real drivers car, not slush box slow slow slow and slow. Auto blip. LOL... ahhh, two schools of ppl I think. Either will be great, but only DCT for me.

I kind of like this a lot! I think in black some of those accents won't look so out of place. The hip lines remind me of the E30 M from that side shot. I might wanna test drive one of these.
