A few years ago, I joined in a Bimmerpost group buy for Apex wheels for winter use on my OG '18 M2. They are 18 x 9", ET31. Anyone know whether these will fit on a G87? Thanks

OEM winter setup for the G80 is 19x9.5 ET20 both front and rear. Safe to say that would be the OEM setup for the G87. You can use spacers to cover the offset delta but not sure if your wheels can clear the brakes. I would suggest searching the G80 forum to see if anyone was able to use a setup similar to yours.

They changed the bolt pattern for the G80/G82 so the wheels for our OG M2s will not work on the G87.

Yes, the switch started across the range for the 2018 model year with Gxx models and looks like the F2x was the last to have the old 5x120 bolt pattern when it went out of production in 2021. There had been selective use of 5x112 before 2018 on certain models such as the i3, though.

Tire rack has the 275/35/19 Blizzak LM32s in stock again, they are a great deal and they should work great as a square setup with a set of winter wheels per the G80 forum. Go get them before they are out of stock...

The rear wheel barrels are a full inch wider and probably won't fit the front without rubbing when turning the steering wheel lock to lock.

You typically want a square setup for winter since narrower winter tires provide better grip in the snow. Running a 19's instead of 20's is also better since you get more meat in the sidewall against potholes. That said, the width between the front and rear tires are only 10mm apart so it's not as big of a difference as some other models. A 20" wheel in the rear for winter is just asking for it IMO.

I will probably go 255/40-19 all around for winter tyres on 19x9.5" wheels. The offset limits the wheel choice available, but I've been happy with the Braelin BR06 wheels we've used on our Macan S over the past 2 winters, so may order the same for the M2 as they have the correct centrebore and offsets available within 5mm of the optimum.

That makes sense. The chances of me driving in snow is very slim. I'll probably just switch to all season tires stock size on stock wheels for the winter.

Very limited options available for the stock staggered setup if you want winter tires. Plus the 20-inch rears have very little sidewall that will surely not last a Colorado Winter/Spring in my case. 275/35/19 square setup is a good compromise, still pretty wide for dry grip/braking and multiple winter tire options available. Plus you can rotate the tires to get more out of the tread...

You definitely want as much pot-hole resistance as possible with the winter set since you may not be able to see said potholes. I would try for 18's if at all possible. I busted a 19 on my Giulia and it didn't take much - and I mean busted. The rear 20's just aren't going to have hardly any sidewall to absorb impact.

18s would be ideal but other than the rather pricey 824M fronts, not sure if other 18 inch wheels would clear the calipers. Since the 275s have such great width and still has a 35 ratio, you actually get a wider contact patch absorbing impact as well as a sidewall close to 4 inches.
