I wish they would have brought some classic ///M colors back for the new M2. Imagine Imola Red, Laguna Seca Blue, Interlagos Blue, Oxford Green, etc. they would fit this car beautifully.

Agreed! The color palette is way too sparse for this model. Oxford Green would be great IMO. I used to have a E30 325i in Laguna Green. That would be a great color on the G87 too.

That's a good color to compare it to verse various different reds from other manufactures. It definitely leans more towards that color. It's not the same obviously but I think Toronto leans slighty more orangey. If you like Guards then you'll probably like Toronto. I will say that I felt Toronto on my X3M had the most orange hue when it was overcast out instead of high sun.

I looked around on Google images to find something that I personally felt looked fairly close to real life and I would look at the pictures from this page here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/comment..._bmw_2021_x3m/ . Click through the pictures this person posted and you'll see how it looks in a few different lightning conditions and I feel that it's very close to real life. You'll see how the last two photos look a lot more orange in the slightly overcast shots.
Thanks for this. I didn't realize how orange TR looked in overcast - I wonder if it looks overly polarizing with cars that have red calibers equipped.
I have a TR M3 and X3M for the wife with red calipers. Actually looks more orange in direct sun. Calipers look like they match fine.

TR works so well for the G87 (compared to AW, BG, and ZB) because it is the darkest color on offer after the BSM. I am not a fan of the BSM because it goes too far in hiding/curbing the design elements but just imagine how good this car could have looked in Dravit or Storm Bay...

Much better than Zandvoort but personally I just don't feel Red is a BMW color. It worked on some older boxy models like the E30 but otherwise I'm a Blue BMW type of guy.

Leave the Red for Porsches and the Italians.

Porsches have no business being red.

Melbourne Red would be so much better.

Its just strange that regular 2series has better colors than M2!

Anyone know when Individual Paint will be possible?
Lemans Blue would be perfect on the M2.

I saw an Brooklyn G80 M3. He was in front of me at night rolling down the highway.. it's sad that at night you cannot tell what kind of car it is. The front and headlights don't look like BMW the rear of the car. Looks like any other car you would see on the road Honda Camry. I have a 2020 M4 lowered with M performance parts and you can clearly tell my car is a BMW..

Bmw has just ruined the M3 and M4…

Guards Red is not very common

Some TR G82 from my local dealer's parking lot.
It was sunny with a little cloud that day.

I agree Guards Red is not super common but on the flip side it isn't absent either. It has been offered for decades for a reason, it seems to be a heritage color for the brand. It [or Speed Yellow] will be my choice when I eventually transition over to Porsche.

Couple interesting links I found on the topic of Porsche colors.

Maybe it's regional. I've seen plenty red 911s and enough red Boxster/Caymans over the years. Guards Red has been offered for decades for a reason. It will be my choice when I eventually transition over to Porsche.
It's been around a long time but it's just not the most commonly ordered color in the Porsche lineup

Yeah definitely. Greyscale are most common and I think Silver is the most classic of all Porsche colors. But I like that Red is somewhat unique yet still a classic color. Not too outlandish.
