Finally fixed the shuddering after 2 years

And I’m in love with the car all over again!

Purchased my ‘11 e90 328xi 2 years ago and I noticed there was a slight shudder at lower speeds while driving in traffic and sometimes around town. Read about all the tq converter shudder from the GM tranny and thought that was the culprit so about a year later I did a drain and fill with 2 tubes of shudder fix. The car shifted much smoother but the shuddering was still there. I was pretty stumped and gave up in disappointment since I didn’t know what else it could be.

After much more researching I finally thought it might be bad front axles. All the descriptions seem to fit so it was either that or driveshaft related which I was hoping it wasn’t. Took advantage of fcp’s Black Friday sale and went with brand new GKN front axles for both sides. Found a shop to install them last week and finally got the car back on Friday. And…the shuddering completely disappeared! I could not believe it, the car drove like a brand new car. I honestly had no idea how bad the shuddering was until it was fixed, and now I am in love with the car again. It was definitely expensive to fix but I can honestly say that it was 100% worth it.

If your car has a shuddering at low speeds around 20-25mph when you give it gas then get your front axles checked out, they might be in need of replacing.

You give me hope however I didn't have any brand knowledge and went with trq, my front left is bad and clicking and close to popping. Soon as I get my clutch installed I'm addressing the cv. I've heard seized calipers can also contribute to shuddering and vibration
