New Worlds Fastest Tuned(beta) N55?
BMS has been playing with their N55 for the last week and making some great progress. I am really surprised at the speed at which Terry has thrown himself at this project.
Here is some VBOX Testing Best of 3 runs stock was 13.4@106.9 Best of 3 runs "stage 1 beta Tune" was 13.2@110.6 So it looks like at this VERY early BETA stage progress is being made. I am also attaching a stock and a "stage 1 beta" boost log for comparison. In these examples boost is being sampled off the MAP sensor so the labelling on the interface software will need to be changed. Mike |

Like the effort but Terry really got to work the higher RPM boost.
Has Launch Control been activated yet in the N55?

looks on par with what a JB1 should do? Wait till they have more control and can tweak the tuning, then they'll be able to turn up the boost some more

Kind of disappointing for sure but it's still early, I remember the jb1 days when we were only getting minimal gains as well.

Boost down low has been increased from 9-10psi to 14-15psi and from what I hear really wakes the car up. Top end boost is convservative and may continue to be so for some time. But the goal with Stage1 is around 30-40whp and 40-50wtq. Then it's going to take some time to figure out what can be done to move up to a Stage2. The nice thing about Stage1 is it's a fully PnP setup without having to remove the cowl. Mike |

Making progress, its going to take some time. Just look how long it took the N54 to get here today comapred to even lets say last year. For stage 1 its not bad, but i dont think it will ever be a N54.

Yup, probably just as accurate as some dyno comparisons, and may be more accurate than some drag strips as well. There are a lot of crucial things relying on GPS such as missiles, etc. So I'm sure it will work fine for car performance measurements.

Maybe, but there's also the fact that the GPS that guides missiles are military grade and are accurate within less than 4 inches. The vbox's satellite is not nearly as accurate.

+1, yes its way early, nice job Terry.. however the fact that the 335"is" has the N54 tells me which engine/platform is superior..
