Official Car of MotoGP
I have an interest in both cars and motorcycles, and probably lean more toward motorcycles, enthusiasm-wise.
Part of this is a keen interest in motorcycle racing. BMW recently celebrated (I believe) their 25th year as the "official car of MotoGP". Being a newly minted M2 owner, it is really cool to see the little M2 at the front of the MotoGP grid (and equally cool M3 wagon medical car!). Anyhow, I have looked and looked and there is virtually nothing in the way of merchandise advertising this relationship. I hoped to get a decal, patch, T-shirt, or some such to show my BMW and motorcycle enthusiasm. A decal or embroidered patch would be particularly appreciated. Has anybody seen anything like this? I think BMW is missing out in not offering some of this stuff in their catalog. Last edited by Smilodon; 03-24-2024 at 09:09 PM.. |

I too am a motorcycle enthusiast and look forward to watching this seasons Moto GP and the M2 out front of the grid. Currently vacationing in Vietnam and will be taking delivery of a new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro on arrival back home. Certainly looking forward to the new bike, but really missing the M2!

I have been to Phillip Island a couple of times for World SBK, a truly beautiful location and circuit, however, take wet weather gear as the weather changes very quickly in the south of Australia and I have been rained on every time I have been there. As for Vietnam, too humid for this old fellow to ride there....36 degrees C and felt more like high 40's, never been more sweaty in my life! Having said that I have toured the blue highways of the US a couple of times and believe you guys have the best (secondary/rarely used) highways in the world!

Just for grins, here is a shot I took of the (then) M3 safety car at Indy back in 2011...

So now... I need a smaller sticker like that one on the back with just the "Official Car of MotoGP" part. And maybe the MotoGP logo instead of the word "MotoGP". I'm sure I can get one made. Just seems like something that would make a great BMW give-a-way at shows, races or some such.
