Baltimore tragedy effect on deliveries

The bridge lying across the harbor entrance at Baltimore is going to put that port out of commission for some time. I believe that is a major port for BMW (and others) serving the mid-Atlantic and mid-West, is it not? Deliveries may be diverted to New Jersey but that port may become overloaded.

Not at all.
Your post is insensitive and stupid considering you’re more concerned with shipping schedules than rescue and recovery operations for missing persons. I hope you don’t have any family and/or friends involved with this tragedy.

I don’t think it came off that way. I believe everyone’s first concern is for the lives affected by the tragedy. This thread is specific to the process of ordering BMWs. Shipping-related activities related to receiving the cars can be affected with the incident in Baltimore. It is on-topic and not insensitive.

Information a few posts back.

•Genius cannot see whether ship will be stopping in Baltimore first, but noted that since the Baltimore BMW port is “on the harbor side”, delays shouldn’t be expected.

I just checked on my end and it flipped to 195 (in transit, wtf) skipping 190 and 193. Super confused cause Glovis Crystal is still sailing lol. Confirmed with my CA that maybe a bug on our website, I got excited for about 300ms though.

True. Guess they prioritized their bug fix over tracking accuracy lol.

I think I just happened to catch mine changing through those various phases very quickly - within a matter of 15-30 minutes (I have a refresh button problem, I admit it). This morning I am also at 195.....ahhh, I have the red caliper change as well now.

You are correct that it is a major port for BMW. Maybe there's another offloading point, but my car (came off at NY/NJ Port Bayonne) stopped west of the collapsed bridge at the Fairfield Marine Automobile Terminal.

Ok guys, what do you feel is a realistic timeline to get the car. My order was accepted yesterday, Status 111.

I live in Los Angeles, so its not going through the Panama Canal.

Morning all,

I have been driving an automatic for nearly 20 years as I was sharing a car with my other half. She eventually gifted (not financially but agreed for me to have my own car lol) an M2 G87 in manual transmission for my 40th and boy has it been something special.

Picked it up yesterday and it brought me back to my 20s. A sensational car and I am always counting my hours to drive it. I have only ever driven the M2 previous generation once on a track, but the manual transmission on this car, the driver engagement and the overall connection that is made between the driver and car is beyond words.

Watches Chris Harris’s review on the M2 again yesterday and couldn’t agree more with everything he said.

Agreed.

Insensitive would’ve been if someone asked if he’s having the “port installed suspension”…
