Dude I feel your pain on guitars ... I have that problem too. And stereo equipment. LOL

Want to say thanks for all of the input on the F87. Y'all have been great! It's nice to hear other folks having beloved cars they've unloaded. I know a user on here (rcouch?) had an M2 comp he got rid of & now has a G87. and that M2C is special for sure. Don't doubt that was somewhat difficult.

There's probably somebody out there that really wants an F87 & one reliably modded would be appreciated. I'll feel good about selling it to someone who will love it & maybe never thought they'd have an M car.

I'll wait until I am closer to delivery though. I'll miss it too much if I sell it too soon. It's keeping me sane during my wait time... LOL

To me it’s very redundant to have two M2s. They may be different but overall they are way more similar than not. Sell and simply for your life. If anything a Mini is way more different of a car.

My dealer got their allocation today & I got my production number! Added it to my garage on BMWUSA even. I'm officially like a little kid at 11:59:59 PM Xmas Eve.

Dealer just called me. Somehow they were able to move my production date from May to April! Friggin amazing. Hopefully that means June/July delivery vs July/August.

Added the new production number and sure enough status switched from order received under the old # to "in production".

Killer BMW dealer.

Don't quite get the F87 as a rainy roads, winter time & track car. Those usage conditions don't quite seem to go together...

I would think the JCW would be the better car to keep assuming its condition was good. More economical. A great town car, small, easy to maneuver and park.

I owned a 2023 MINI JCW 6-speed, bought it a month before I bought my M2. My 3rd MINI and my 2nd JCW.

I would still have the JCW but there is no MINI dealer here which prompted me long story short to trade in the JCW for a 2024 BMW 230xi.

With the 230xi I would get the benefit of free CBS services -- courtesy of the local dealer where I bought the car -- and the car has AWD which could come in handy given the winter weather this area gets.

The days of cars with ice are numbered. My advice is add instead of sell - ofc that depends on your income etc. Think wisely not to regret it , especially if your F87 was brand new.

I bought it used, but in incredible condition - and I had no clue it was modified. I have a couple of seemingly live people interested in buying the car. One is even relatively close. If he buys it, I will be happy to let it go as he seems like a real enthusiast & so far has been a really nice guy.

I am surprised I am not getting any interest from my ad on bimmerpost. Autotrader has been the worst experience - every respondent has been a scammer & I've had to block them. One guy just changes his email address & keeps hitting me up. Autotrader actually made an offer to buy it, but to me - way too lowball an offer, below trade-in value even.

Facebook marketplace has given me the best results & from so far, real people. I have zero problem keeping it. I don't feel like paying taxes & insurance on 2 cars in CT, but... keeping the F87 as my track car & fall/winter daily on crappy days suits me fine!! It's been great for the 4 years I've owned it.

My G87 beastie started its build today! Woo hoo! And, it looks like I sold my F87! Gentleman from Maine is coming down this Saturday. I am bummed it sold so fast... was hoping I'd be keeping it a little deeper into the G87's build so I wouldn't be missing an M2 for 2-3 months. But hey - the guy loves it & he's been great to chat with. I'm happy he's happy.

And if it falls thru, I'm happy to keep it!

Now to start buying the parts I want. LOL

What was the ballpark that it sold for? I've seen low to mid 40s on low mileage F87Cs sold on BAT. People seem to think they can still get over $50K for these cars but that's unrealistic.

If it's going to be his only car he'll enjoy it way more than if it was your 2nd (older) car. That's my guess! That would feel good for me.

I'm also curious how much you sold it for, if you're comfortable sharing, and how many miles / what year?

I traded my 2017 in to a dealer at G87 purchase time for $36.5k w/ 25k miles, if you're curious.

Also, Congrats!

Listed it for 36k. Sold it for 34k. 69k miles.

If you want to see details: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2093432

It's also on FB marketplace with videos. Car is immaculate inside and out. I think the guy is getting the deal of the century with all the mods, extra set of Richland Forged wheels with Continental summer tires, fully upgraded stereo with top notch stuff, euro tail lights, CF M perf exhaust tips, CF aero parts.

I drove my buddy's G87 & no doubt, this is one helluva car. Interior is just awesome, very nice indeed. Love the side view. And love that there is no drone with the exhaust. Lemme tell ya - that is one thing I will not miss with my F87. I def miss some of the BMW classic stuff like the dual angel eye headlights & M2 side-gill/badge.

Anyway - the new build specs:
  • Black Sapphire Metallic
  • 6 speed manual
  • Bi-color wheels (getting Richland Forged GT4 in brushed clear)
  • Black interior with the M color highlights
  • Carbon Fiber trim
  • Keeping the sunroof
  • Shadowline
  • LED lighting
  • Live Cockpit pro/HUD
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Wireless charging
  • Red brake calipers.
  • AND - the port installed M Performance HAS kit!!

Worst part - 4 to 5 month ETA!

At least I still have the F87 to keep my satisfied until it arrives.

Just wondering if selling the F87 just for the extra cash to lower the payment might be a bad mistake. I wanna keep it, but I really don't need 2 cars - I just know I'll miss that thing once it's gone.
In my opinion, if it's an M2C I would get rid of it. If it's a OG M2 then it's different/old enough to keep along side the G87. In a perfect world, the G87 would be your fun, comfortable and technologically advanced daily while the OG M2 would be your stripped, track built lightweight weekend warrior. The G87 just does everything better than the M2C. The OG has a big advantage in the weight department so it's great for tracking.

I got 2 actual, interested buyers. If this first sale falls through the cracks, I'll wait for 2nd guy - but then, I'll just keep it after these 2 guys. I am already thinking, I shouldn't have sold it.

Mineral Grey Metallic, hell yeah.

I'd love to see the G87 in that color.

If the F87 is a MT, maybe keep it and make it the beater. Sounds like you are being taxed heavily so maybe that changes things.

Yeah, CT taxes cars every year. On the F87 it's not too bad because it's 7 years old. But the 70k G87 - it's basically another real estate tax. I don't want to pay more in taxes just on principle. CT sucks the fun out of every day... (our state motto).

Seems like the guy I'm talking with is actually buying it. Friend of his is driving him down from Maine & I am meeting them halfway to bring him down to see the M2. I keep sending him pics to make him want it more. Jedi mind trick. LOL
