Is that really true that BMW is cancelling all MTs after 2025?

I’m first in line for a 2025. That’d be crazy if I got the last year of the MT.

No solid evidence yet that the G87 won't have a version with a manual transmission that continues to the end of production in 2029 as the last manual in the BMW range.

I think you’re right. Honestly that’s always been part of the point to an M2. Interesting though that the G87 CS looks to be auto-only. Probably because of the torque increases.

Correct, however plans can change without warning. For example VW is discontinuing the MT for Golf R and GTI, 2024 is the last year. As far as the M2, I believe 2025 will still be offered with MT but there is no guarantee that the LCI will still offer it.

BMW will offer the MT for the entire lifecycle of the G87. The only exception would be something like what happed with the F87 where emission regulations came into play. In that case they had the option to redesign the N55 to meet the standards but decided it was more cost effective to phase out the N55 and use the S55 for the rest of the F87s lifecycle; enter the M2C. I don't know if they'd do that again for the G8x so that would be the only reason I can think of where they would stop offering the MT. In that case it wouldn't just be for the M2, it would be for all of the S58 powered M cars.
