ekp programming

2012 e92 n55
I have the over heating problem with my Fuel Control Module/EKP. My car would just stall and would not restart until the module cooled down enough. I contacted FCP Euro for a proper replacement part number. I then found a used one at the local parts yard and installed the module. It runs fine but on start up it does not always prime the lpfp. I have to remove the key re insert and turn the ignition on and listen for the pump. It may come right on or take 10 times but once its running I have no problems. I tried to get the EKP flashed but the programmer gets a error when trying to communicate with the EKP. I am wanting to buy a new one but want to make sure its the EKP before spending $350 and have the same communication problem. Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience. thanks

yes sir I believe you tried to code it but kept getting a error. I was just trying to figure out if it was because I purchased a used ekp or if I had another problem. I read somewhere but I cant find it now that some one had to install their old ekp copy the vin and then install the new ekp and paste the vin on it?

We can help remotely. Do you have a KDCAN cable already? If not, we can send one.

Are you free to do this for me, i have an ekp installed but i dont think the parameters are correct for the Walbro 450, my EKP does overheat and will shut my car off but my LPFP is only pulling between 28-32 in the JB4 app, when i first installed the pump it was at 64 i think, but then my car sat for a month while i was on a trip and i come back to this madness. Ive tried to lookup how to do it myself with the higher current values but i cant figure out NCS to save my life. I did get a error code on the JB4 for voltage/current too high one time, and i also got a 29F1 fuel pressure plausibility. I do already have a cable.

Hello, I’ve been reading post about the Fuel pump control module and you’re post came up. I was wondering if you can assist me in any way. I purchased a used module out of the same car and engine except the year is 2008 and my car is a 2009 but the engine is the exact same and the model car also. I would like to know if I need to program this used module or will it be plug and play and will everything work or do I need to code it. I do have ncs expert and Inpa but don’t know how to use it. Please offer any insight, thanks.

Does anyone know if I can use a EKPM3 fuel pump module to replace my EKPM2 on my 2006 325i e90 sedan? I tried to program in NCS and am getting the ERROR MESSAGE: Error in CABD! Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG!
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht IFH-0009: SG nicht angeschlossen oder meldet sich nicht EKPM60_2
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht CODIERINDEX_LESEN
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht IFH-0009: SG nicht angeschlossen oder meldet sich nicht EKPM60_2
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht SG_CODIEREN

I am running NCS V4.01 CoAPI V3.13.2 KrAPi V3.0.2 and Ediabas V7.3.0
I also am using INPA 5.0.6 to check connection to car.

I am not sure why I keep getting these error messages when I am trying to code the new fuel pump module. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
