Major Codes!!!!
Driving home from work this afternoon the car felt off. I have been getting this odd "feedback" from my MT at high rpm's. Kind of like a dull vibration.
Anyways, on the way home, my car went into limp mode, code city.... Intermittently, I have had the following two codes over the past few weeks: 2CF4 - Oxygen sensor before catalytic converter, dynamics:Slow Response 2D2F - Oxygen sensors before catalytic converter:Multiple fault Both are O2 related codes. I pulled an initial log this morning for an initial map for a custom tune that Ken is doing for me and this is what it looked like.... http://www.datazap.me/u/diggler70/lo...=0&data=4-5-15 Then this afternoon... 2EE0 - Combustion misfiring, several cylinders:Fuel injection deactivation 2EE2 - Combustion misfiring, several cylinders:damaging exhaust gas after start sequence 2EF4 - Combustion misfiring, cylinder 6:Fuel injection deactivation 2EF6 - Combustion misfiring, cylinder 6 2EFE - Misfire, several cylinders 2F04 - Misfire, cylinder 6 Reduced power, rough idle and chugging pulse from the engine. Could this be caused by a faulty O2 sensor? I had one of them replaced a couple of months ago. I think that there are two in my car if I understand correctly. Thanks,

Did these codes appear during a WOT pull or were they during normal driving? These cars will deactivate the injectors on a cylinder when repeated misfires occur until the car is turned off and turned back on. Answer the above questions and we can go from there. |

These codes initially appeared on a WOT. They still appear and the car still runs rough and half engine light. Even after repeated restarts and sitting over night. |

I am at the shop with it now hoping to find out more. Will log as soon as I can but I definitely can't WOT. I went back to the Stock O Map last night as well. Problem still persists.

It looks like the brand new Bosch spark plug in cylinder 6 had an issue. The insulation sleeve inside the plug became dislodged and would completely cover the tip. We swapped cylinder 1 and 6 and the misfire issue followed it. Just gonna replace the one new plug for now and see if that fixes everything.

You don't mention miles, but 'fuel injectors' on a 2016 seems suspect given 'misfires'.
What about coils, wires, etc and all other ignition related components? Stick with the stock tune until you get it figured out... |

I know I am dragging up an old thread, but my car has been running noticeably poorly over the past couple of days and I too have received errors 2CF4 and shadow code 2D2F.
Luckily, my car is going into the garage this weekend to replace the high pressure fuel sensor and a couple of gaskets around the turbo where I have air leaks, among other works. I have ordered a replacement lambda sensor 11787596924 (Bosch 0258027019) in case this is needed. I'll report back - hopefully this doesn't turn into needing to replace injectors! /edit/ annoyingly the replacement lambda sensor I ordered with overnight delivery hasn't arrived! /edit/ Last edited by wrevilo; 03-08-2024 at 09:14 AM.. |

Do you have any updates? I replaced my upstream O2 sensor about a year ago with BMW OEM sensor but suddenly started getting the exact same codes. Car drives just fine though. 2011 e92 with 130k miles. |

Other than the Valvetronic issue the car was looking decent on logs so I can't really offer anything further at this point. I will update further once I have my car back and it's in regular use. |

No, still awaiting a set of new injectors from Germany to arrive and be fitted. Apparently removing them after they had been in place 14 years was not easy and is necessary to get to the Valvetronic actuator in order to replace that.
It is really frustrating having not had my car for 2 months(!) now. I am going to have to list out at some point all of the parts that have been replaced - it is a long list and the bill is going to be very large! That being said, apart from the Valvetronic issue the car was driving really well when I tested it several weeks back. |
