Front brake pad warning light

Morning... Quick question.... The brake pad warning light, is that based on no. of mileage or actual wear?

BOTH,,,,

Could be the next mileage due date has lapsed or the pads have worn down to the sensor, did you get any messages on the I drive stating it was due.

It's usually on contact to the disc with the sensor to ping up the warning to replace.
