MHD "take a look at my log" thread
There seems to be more and more posts in the "General MHD" thread of people asking to have their logs read. I figured a separate thread for this would be a good idea.
I think it's awesome we have a community willing to help each other out and we certainly have some experts here that are good at looking at logs. If someone is willing to add a post about the "general rule" when looking at logs (like what to look for - timing, boost, lpfp, etc.) I think that my also be helpful. |

Good idea for a thread, I read the general one a lot and see logs everywhere. With that being said I just started using mhd about 3 days ago and I'm trying to learn the log reading as well. I have exhuast and catless dps. Everything else is stock. I know I need a fmic based on the iat and my lpfp dips below 50 to the high 40s 2 or 3 times when looking at the actual spread sheet. Anything else to note that I should be looking for when reading these logs?

Really good Idea for a thread, should sticky.
stephen335xi you have quite a few timing corrections, and you need an intercooler asap. Your IAT are way up there, on top of the LPFP dipping and your boost is below target |

Your intercooler is as bad as mine (AA street) whats was the ambient temp like? The only bad thing I notices was the Cyl3 timing corrections. maybe swap the coil and the plug from 3 to 4 and see if it moves. Love how your stage 2s hold boost up top. |

I just finalized my install of the Stage 2's last weekend. I was running V5 E40 map and had old coils and new plugs, and boost was maxing out the sensor I was getting tons of misfires on all cylinders. The pull below the misfires was pretty ferocious to me. This V6.1 map keeps me out of the misfires until I get the my fueling and custom tune dialed in. I replaced my coils just before that log. I still need a walnut blast and my LPFP hasn't been upgraded. I think the timing corrections may have to do with the need for walnut blasting; just speculating on that. If I do some more logs and see that cylinder 3 seems to specifically be pulling timing I'll try swapping the coil and plug around to see if it moves with it. Thanks for checking my log and giving me your feedback. |

I think if it was walnut blasting it wouldn't be just one cylinder. |

It takes them 900 RPMS to build full boost, and they are way below target, even in the midrange. On top of that your HPFP is tired too, and has dangerously low presssure I probably would not be as brave as you. |

to do a proper log, Step 1 (go somewhere were you can go from 40mph to north of 100MPH) if you are going to do it on the street go to Mexico Step 2 disable traction control Step 3 put your car in 3rd gear and make sure it stays there. Step 4 press the log button on your device Step 5 start from 2000 RPMS in 3rd gear and go WOT until you hit 6000-7000 RPMS while still being in 3rd gear. |

I don't know what to conclude from your IAT results vs mine. Your IAT rose 29 degrees during your pull to redline and mine rose somewhere between 7-9 degrees to redline. What's considered good intercooler performance?

Have a lil hesitation sometimes but it's very hard to replicate as it's not constant..
Anyone care to take a peak..?? http://datazap.me/u/beastmode335i/61...13-14-16-23-24 plugs, coils, injectors, etc are all under 2k miles..

Hmm good call, I don't remember if I had it on or off now that u mention it.. However I did notice one time when I had it turned completely off, it still hesitated a bit when I went WOT from a 2nd gear roll.. I was under the influence that once it was turned completely off, there was no traction guidance at all from the car, was I wrong.. ??

Experimenting with a stg 2 6.1 tune. I have no DP's but have an upgraded FMIC and intake so figured I'd play with it. Not too concerned with the small corrections during the pull (my understanding is that corrections less than -5 on less than 3 cylinders during a pull is OK) but man, look at the multiple corrections *after* the pull when I merged into traffic! Is that normal? Car felt fine the whole time. Any thoughts appreciated.
