Anyone here experience lag in what the Mygarage portal shows for production status versus what the CA or Genius hotline does? Maybe this is a common issue and has been discussed previously, but my car has been showing Final Assembly since 04/15, which is the day my CA called me to say that the car would ship soon. I called the Genius hotline today and they said the car was Ready for Transport to the dock.

If this is a common issue, does Mygarage eventually sync up with the actual status of the car? Asking so I don't have to keep bugging my CA or calling the Genius hotline.

This is true, there are 4 peeps ahead of me on the waitlist so I know I will probably be getting a 2025 model. I so badly want to see the color options to get an idea of how I will spec my car.

That being said, I know wait a few months to a year is rough but when I got my current car (2018 Tesla Model 3) I put my deposit down on April 2, 2016. I didn’t take delivery until October 3, 2018. THAT was hard. Many times I wanted to just cancel and get an M4.

Your story put a smile on my face. I was on the waitlist for an F87 M2 Comp in the summer of 2018 but my wife vetoed the purchase on the basis of the car being too small and too fast. I asked her if she'd be OK with a Tesla Model 3 Performance, which I told her was faster, and she OK'd that purchase. I connected with the local Tesla dealership in August and took delivery of the car in September. Nearly six years later, that Model 3 Performance has 105K miles and it's now my son's car and my wife OK'd the purchase of a G87 M2... which I will take delivery of next month. Took me six years but I've come full circle...

That is a great story. I guess I am in the same boat. I thought about getting a BMW back then and will finally get it next year....just took a detour to get there. How did you like the Tesla?

The short answer is that it's the best car I've ever owned and overall, the best purchase I've ever made. The novelty of instant acceleration was expressed very obnoxiously at red lights in the first month of ownership but in the long run, was something I came to really appreciate for day-to-day driving. That and the near-flawless traction that the Tesla has gives one confidence in the car's handling and overall safety that is hard to find in ICE cars. That being said, I had an E36 M3 20+ years ago and multiple N54/N55 and a B58 3-series cars between 2008 and 2018... so my heart really lies with BMW.

I test drove the i4 M50 but it's a boat and doesn't excite me at all. I'm excited for what BMW will do with future EVs and will 100% buy one from the Neue Klasse generation, but I will likely keep this M2 "forever".

Today marks 2 weeks of car at the Port. My dealer had 4 incoming M2s including mine and have received and delivered 3 of them in that time, mine is still "at the port". Only difference with mine from the other 3 is MP HAS.

Starting to think so many of us have ordered the HAS that they are backordered..or they are repairing some transport damage.

FWIW, my CA sent me an email last night saying that I “can bet on it being here next week.” He originally gave me an estimate of Apr 15th.

I was hoping to have it ready and back from ppf by the 26th, but I doubt that’ll happen now. I wanted to take it to a party at my brother-in-law’s on the 27th.

Oh well.

month and a half to delivery, give or take a couple weeks. Worth the wait though, got 300 miles on mine already and this thing absolutely rips around corners, can't wait for break-in to be done cause this engine is just starting to get real lively at 4k rpm when I gotta shift

Mine always shows at port status, even now. Although BMW genius told me it was already assigned carrier 2days ago for dealership. Mine also have MP HAS and shows this status for 3 weeks (if I remembered correctly we are in the same ship as Glovis) have you checked with them by any chance?

I am still waiting to leave "Ready for Transport" status - I'm now a month in QA following a month of "in transit to the port," according to the Genius line. Yikes!

My car is still at port. My CA just emailed saying that he wonders if they’re waiting on parts. The only port-installed part I’m getting is the MP HAS.

Can anyone else who’s stuck at their destination port confirm whether it’s a part shortage?

Same. There are quite a few RORO ships arriving in the next 2 or 3 days to Veracruz that appear to run from Veracruz to the eastern seaboard. Here's hoping its about to get a load of BMWs driven onto it.

My dealer contacted me back saying they were not expecting any cars to arrive this week but were going to "look into it"...nothing back from them today. I'm still right there with you, so there is either a shortage on the MP HAS, or our 2 cars crashed into each other and are getting bodywork done....I suspect it is the suspension, simple things being simple...

EDIT: parts are in, should be completed with installation by Friday and at dealer early next week.

First time poster, long time reader.

I ordered my G87 M2 last Saturday and my local dealer didn't have an allocation yet. Next stop, confirmed allocation. The wait begins. Thanks for all who have posted their updates and kept this ship on course.

This is my third experience ordering a vehicle. I've gone back to look at my other experiences:

2017 Porsche 718 Cayman S. Ordered at Dealer 3/24/17 -> Arrived at Dealer 6/28/17

2022 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. Ordered at Dealer 11/11/21 -> Arrived at Dealer 2/5/22

Both orders took around 3 months from order placed to me picking them up. I hope I'm as lucky to experience 3 months one this one but I'm thinking I need to expect more patience.

It's worth it, right?

Cheers

Not sure if this is uncommon but just placed a deposit on my full spec m2 with no ADM. The dealer had an allocation about to enter production and was able to change the build to my spec. Got my production # scheduled for may 28. Pretty excited!!

The G87 M2 is the original e46 M3 size with a wider body n better engine. It’s hella fun to drive n I would say get it in manual. Manual is always better.
