Spotted - United States
Ideally it would be cool to have a thread like this for different states/regions but being these cars are so rare, a single thread will probably work. I've only seen 2 or 3 G42's in the wild in the past year.
Today I saw a black G42 in Neptune NJ near an Exxon gas station stopped at a red light. Was that anyone on here? |

In the 3 months that I’ve had the car I’ve spotted only 4 G42’s (x3 230i, x1 m240i) on the road,

Until yesterday, I had only seen one G42 - a red 230i (parked). Then I saw a TNM G42 while driving through mid-coastal Maine area! Was so excited that I wanted to wave the driver down just to make a connection. Did not know I would react in such a way seeing the same car! I guess it is as was stated, the rarity might play a role.

I love how rare they are. Here's the few I've seen within the past year:
1. A BG M240 owned/leased by someone at the dealership that I checked out and sat in a few days before placing my order. I had to sit in one before ordering as the seat feel made me hate the Audi S3 back in 2019 when I was considering it. 2. A guy that lives down the street from me has a white M240. I stopped and talked with him for a bit a month or two ago. I remember it would kill me seeing him drive by while I was cutting my grass during my long order-to-delivery wait time. 3. A 230 was parked at a construction company near my house 4. The one I saw today on the road. Couldn't tell if it was a 230 or 240 as I was pretty far away and was focused on driving |

Are they Rare ?
My 2023 M240i is in rural Michigan and I have never seen another. I am currently in Florida where there are many BMWs on the roads but still haven't seen a M240. We have been driving all over the state past two weeks.

I’ve seen 3 230i’s on the same road area but no m240i’s.
Do you guys also feel superior to 230i owners when seeing them on the road JK!! |

I'm here on Long Island.
There is an employee at my dealer who has a blue m240i. I saw Value's car before he took delivery of it, but haven't seen it since. I saw a black 230i I parked next to and took a photo with. I saw a black m240i I managed to snag a photo of in my mirror. When I was waiting for my car to show up I saw a purple 230i out in Montauk. Other than that, I haven't seen any. I was at a massive car meet yesterday with at least a few hundred cars and I had the only G42 there. |

Still haven’t seen another M240i in the wild after having mine for over 1 year. I’ve put over 12k miles on her. She is definitely rare around these parts.
My local stealership has gotten 2 since I bought mine. Both RWD. They were both sold in a matter of days. |

I live in south Florida. I see Mclarens and Ferraris every day. I haven’t seen a G42 yet. Not one of any trim.

I am also in south Florida .. yes Maseratis are like Camrys here. I have only seen 3-4 G42s in the wild in the last year. Seems the few of us around don't run into each other much..

Well I am one of the only ones in my neighborhood without a Tesla. I drive a 2020 M340 now. My M240 arrives in May.

I saw a G42 in town before I got my car, but I have not seen another one while I've had my car... these are really rare unless you live in a large city I guess.

Have yet to see one in Fairfield County Connecticut. Not on the road a lot these days but I don’t think that matters. I saw only a handful of F22’s in the 8 years I drove mine. I do see X3 and X5 like blades of grass though!

I have only seen one around me. It happened to be the same color as mine. I saw it on the road while my car was in the shop getting PPF. I thought they were joyriding in my car, but I checked the app and it was still at the shop.

I've seen exactly one, and it was in Charleston SC. 230i in BSM, I believe style 791 rims.
