Fully customised M performance M240i (Europe)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi Guys…
Well, it finally happened and I collected my M240i 2 days ago. One of the very first customer ordered 2 series in europe to be delivered.

My Bmw dealer has got it fully customised to my spec.
M performce 20” 795M black wheels. With all M performance carbon exterior body parts, wich where then all repainted in high gloss black to match the rest of the car. (I’m personally not a fan of carbon look)

Also the interior got a upgrade with a lot of M performance parts.
And all bmw emblems were switched to custom IND high gloss black badges.

Then Yesterday, after owning the car for only 12 hours, I teamed up with the dutch company ‘Cobra Suspension’ to have the car lowered and fitted with spacers. They used my car for the development of the very best possible spring set.
It has now been lowered 30mm in the front and 25mm in the back to get the car sitting flush. Spacers are 15mm all around.

It really is a unique machine! I love it and it all turned out even 10 times better then I ever expected. Hope you guys like it too…

Cheers

I really like the gloss black painted carbon fiber parts. I was considering doing the same. It looks even better then I thought it would. Great job. Congrats on building the best m240i so far.

Hi Nicolas,

Really glad you got it (finally!)

She is really very pretty and inspiring.
I thought you had the M seats: how do you find the standard ones (I'll have those too)?

I didn't know about your springs: aren't you afraid for the warranty with these modifications?

What do you mean by "spacer"? Is it because of the expanders that I don't see much difference at the top level?

And if not, then say a little driving point of view ;o) (even if you're still in rodage)

And for the rest :

Hi Nicholas,

The color, the wheels, the adjustments, the M-Performace Styling,
everything looks great.
Looking forward to see our cars together on P Cave, to share our experiences of this beauty

Congratulations again, and see you soon

Hi man… for now, she is absolutely complete yes.
The mods allready cost me a small fortune, wich originally wasn’t planned at all. It just went out of control fast. Haha…
But hey, you only live once right.

Hello Sir

Thanks for the kind words, Harcos. Finally indeed.
I love the seats! Sensatec is of a great quality and the seats look pretty sporty as is.
I do think the M sport seats look even better, but my wife does not like narrow seats, so those where no option from the beginning. + they are very expensive here.

Changing springs (with official certificate) should not void your cars warranty, no. Pretty much all changes on my car are OEM, so no problem there neither.

The spacers are forged metal discs that are installed between your rim and the car, wich set your wheels wider to the outside and visually fill up the wheel well more. Don’t really know how to explain otherwise, haha.

The car drives like a dream, it really is a gem. The only thing I can say is with the non-adaptive suspension, the lowering kit, 20” wheels and run-flat tires. It definetly rides pretty firm. But I personally don’t mind. It’s a sportscaf after all

>>> be careful if you come to the south of the country because here the roads are a disaster
By the way, you left the 225 in front?

Enjoy and have a great time, especially today with this sun

Car looks awesome. Some really nice shots of the car at more interesting angles especially with the rear spoiler. The lines on the spoiler really extend and compliment the lines at the rear. I would say it's practically a must have accessory. I am curious though since you painted all the carbon bits gloss black, did you also replace rear diffuser because I didn't think the carbon version was different in shape to the standard gloss black one. I suppose you might save a bit of weight but compared to the other aero in pieces, it really would look identical.

Yes also the rear diffusor has been changed… its not a major difference indeed. But it does look a bit more agressive. Its the final part I ordered. (Wasn’t going to originally). But did order after all, just so the complete bodykit sits on the car. It does make a small difference looks-wise.

2 questions:

1) since you live in Belgium, spacers aren’t allowed. How are you getting around this?
2) having lived in Belgium, I do not understand that electronic seats are not the norm. Here in the USA I cannot even get an M240i without them (thank god). Why did you not opt for this?

Hi there!

1) that's correct, spacers are not allowed here. Have to take them off when going to the yearly annual inspection (first time only after 4 years) But I rarely keep a car so long.
Have had spacers on all my cars until now, never had any issue with the law, warranty or any others...

2)I did not opt for the electric seats on purpose. :-)
Opposite to you, I personally don't understand why people would want electric seats.
I set my seat to my position 1 time and NEVER have to touch it again. So why on earth would I want to pay 1000€ to have it electric (1 time use)?
2nd reason is that my kids drive with me every day and have to sit in the back. The electric seats take FOREVER to slide forward. They go forward really slowly. With the manual seats its just so much faster and easier.
