Post G87 M2 xDrive Coming!? Possible Confirmation in BMW TIS Document

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Found this in the BMW technical information system which seems to indicate there will be an xDrive version of the G87. It shares the same service information as the M4c w/xDrive.

* I would caution anyone from thinking this is a sure thing, but it is rather interesting.

Looking forward to the "I will only get the M2 if it comes with xDrive" and "I will never buy an M2 with xDrive" discussion.

Wow good find! This is pretty wild if they are actually developing it. Seems BMW does listen after all

Nice find! I am guessing that this will be the Comp model and ZF 8-speed auto only.

Great info.I’m actually really surprised if this turns out to be true.I thought they would keep the M2 with RWD only.Didn’t ynguldyn already confirm from his info that there wouldn’t be a G87 with x drive?

No, just that there was a M2c coming.

When you look up the two cars you listed.

G87 - code 13DM - drive is listed as "heck" or rear
G82 - code 43AZ - drive is listed as "allr" or all

Definitely some conflicting info. Xdrive hopefuls I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.

Thanks.Looks like from your info this is probably legit. It will be interesting to see how many people end up opting for this.It is a cool system in that you can just choose at any given time between RWD and xDrive .Only disadvantage is the weight gain for a car that isn’t going to be a light weight to begin with.

You're probably right.

Doesn't change my order...but I'm sure it'll make others happy.

It also shows xDrive for the M4c RWD. Not sure if it shows it in error or just shows xDrive because there is a variant of the model that it's offered on. Your guess is as good as mine.

I’d wager xDrive is reserved for G87 CS.

Power bump to 510hp as per G8x Comp.

Auto only naturally.

Or. If. As I’d hope. Maybe LCI.

Are we going to see a 3800+ lb m2? For comparison, 2022 RS3 is just 3472 lb with AWD.

I guess we will see in time, but but weary of things you find on TIS. Even if you type in a VIN you will find repair instructions and documents that may not be associated with options/features that car has.

13DM is the upcoming regular RWD M2, US version. This is simply a human error. They happen from time to time.

How does Audi manage to figure it out and we can't?
