I had low expectations based on my dislike of the certain parts of new 2 series design and the G87 camo spy shots. If these pictures are real, the design has still managed to disappoint me greatly.

IMO, there is nothing really aggressive looking or redeeming about the front or rear ends. Only good thing I can say is the side profile looks pretty good. The cherry on top is that blue is awful.

Pulled my deposit. Know it's not the official reveal but I just can't get excited enough to justify the purchase.

Put that deposit on a '19 GT350R which I am genuinely excited about. Really wanted this M2 to be awesome too

Hmmm. Can be really easy to judge from these photos but most felt the same about the G42 before it arrived. Looks fantastic now.

I first saw the pics when I woke up and on my tiny phone screen. My first impression was not good. Had some coffee and cracked open the laptop, looks a lot better on a large screen. Still want to see the official reveal before making a final judgement. Wasn't planning on getting it until the LCI anyway.

Take away the roundel badge and no one would know it's a BMW - that's how bad this design is. The G87 is the E36 of M2's - the performance will be there but it's going to draw a lot of hate like the E36.
