This deal seem legit???

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds

Found this car on Cars dot com. (link below) Emailed the seller to see if it's available and this is their response, and following email responses back and forth. This too good to be true? Anybody in the Detroit area can check this out?

2007 BMW 335i convertible - 49k miles - $15k

HER - June 26th

Hi,
The car is in perfect shape, never been smoked in, without scratches nor dents, and it has never been involved in any kind of accidents. I legally own, free of any liens or loans, under my name. It has 49,722 miles, for sale at $15,121. I’m selling the car because I lost my husband and my child of only 19 years, with 2 months ago in a car accident. A drunk truck driver hit them. They were in my husband’s car and they didn’t had a chance. This was my child's car and brings me a lot of memories that make me suffer and this is the reason for what I want to sell it as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please free to ask.

Thank you,
Sarah

I'm sorry for your loss. That is truly a sad story indeed. Is the car still available? If it is, since I live in Virginia, I will need to fly out there to check it out and most likely purchase it. Also, since i'm serious about buying it, is there any way to paypal you a deposit to hold it for a couple days so I can fly out there sometime this week or next week? Thanks!

Also, do you have any additional pictures of the car? Can you take a video of the car? (can send via text messaging if convenient)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HER - July 1st

Hi again,
As I told you in my first email, I recently lost my son and my husband. Currently I am located in Indianapolis, Indiana at my parents because they are the only persons that I have in my life at this moment. I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet. I'm currently, signed up for a protection program offered by eBay and I would like to close the deal through them. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test drive and inspect the car before paying me. You will have a 10-day inspection period to decide whether you want to keep the car or not before they release the funds to me. eBay is safe. If you agree with eBay's terms and conditions I need the following details from you: full name, address, and phone# and I will initiate the transaction. eBay will contact you shortly after they have the details with all the information that you need to complete this deal. Sorry for the long emails I have tried to touch all bases.

Sincerely,
Sarah

ME - July 2nd

Can you send me the link for your eBay ad then? Thanks!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HER - July 2nd

the car is not listed on eBay anymore but is still available through their Vehicle Purchase
let me explain to you the process:
I've decided that the payment should be completed by using eBay security, because I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% LEGIT but you must know that this way eBay will require you to send the deposit and they will have to verify both me and the car and you as well before we can close this deal through their service.
Your money will be kept by the eBay agent until you will receive the car and send them the confirmation that you are satisfied with the product received. In case you don't want to keep the car all you will have to do is ask them for a refund and you will be totally refunded in 2 days.
REMEMBER: for the delivery I am responsible .
So if you are interested I will need your full name and delivery address as soon as possible in order to send your details to the eBay agent to make the arrangements for delivery.
Thanks

ME - July 2nd

I'm sorry, but the only way I feel comfortable paying for a car is in person, using my bank's auto loan draft check. Meaning I go to my bank, they approve me up to a certain amount (15k is no problem), and then they hand me what is essentially a blank check. I fly out to where the car is located, and I like the car, we would go to your bank together and have them complete the process, so everything is on record, and both parties are covered.

If your not comfortable with this process, then I'm afraid I'll have to move on. Your car is a great deal, but i'm not comfortable buying a car over the internet without checking it out in person first. And if I'm there in person, I might as well buy it in person, check in hand, as well.

No response after this; will update if there is any.

BS. Anyone could've show you the car if the ad was real. I mean she could leave the key with her parents, or some friend, so they can show you the car. It is 100% scam. These fookers keep coming up with the saddest stories and the sorriest excuses in order to scam you out of your money.

you know what they say...if its too good to be true...

think about it, if "she" really wanted a fast sale she would go to a dealer, not post an online ad with paragraphs explaining some complicated process.

This +10

If they wanted a quick sale, there are many dealers who would love to buy it

I love wasting these scumbag's times though, play along with it all the way until its time to enter my name, social , and garage door opener code. The "colorful" name I always give them usually ends the communications pretty quick

Good deal guys

Sounds like a good deal.........

Lol. If anyone falls for this then they deserve it. This is scam written all over it. Easy way to make a few bucks off the security deposit. Same way fence contractors go house to house in new neighbours and collect a small deposit from 20 homes and never show up. Using a fake company name and disposal phones. Never buy a car like this. Always go to a dealer or check it out in person and do all the background checks
