Engine Cooling Upgrades ?
Hello,
Just wondering what everyone has upgraded to as far as cooling ? I’m in south Florida and I’m seeing engine/oil temperatures of 210-220 during 2 pulls. If it matters cruising charge temp is roughly 107-120 in stop & go traffic on the high side and high way or constant cruising on the low side. I’m tuned by Santjer with full deletes. |

There is a second radiator located just in front of the right front wheel. I think that I once saw something that suggested that not all vehicles were equipped with it. If your vehicle doesn't have it, then that might help.
It would be nice to know for sure whether others in your area with similar mods experience the same. If so, then you know for sure your solution is an upgrade. If not, then you should start with troubleshooting your system. I recently had my radiator out for other things and tried to pick up a new (but after-market one) but when I compared the replacement with the OEM and noticed that the replacement had fewer rows (which made me decide not to use it). If by chance your radiator has ever been replaced, it is possible that it is not as efficient as the OEM. Another thing to check is whether your radiator might have debris accumulation on the front. I was surprised how much stuff dropped out when I pulled my intercooler. If you are not the original owner (or if you have ever been forced to use inappropriate coolant or dilute with other than distilled water) there is also the possibility that the radiator has become partially obstructed. Finally, there is also the possibility of water pump failure |

All 335ds have an aux radiator. And why are we worried about oil temps in the 210-220 range? Completely normal after a few hard pulls.
