100% fact! The work force is tiny at the Mexican plant, especially in comparison to Plant Spartanburg, BMW’s largest factory.

only thing that's annoying me is that, it will take longer on the little ship to get here (UK). I hope they'll use a nuclear powered boats as for the car looks...etc i have an F87 comp and i am looking forward to it. I just want to see all of it and no doubt will get it but this time in manual

The vents are covered with wrap, but you can see the outline.

Beyond Euro-delivery fans and enthusiasts/internet anoraks, few will care and most will realise they live in the 21st century and it's not the 80s anymore. Especially since BMW have had plants outside Germany for ages now.

From what I've heard, most people think it's the other way around. G42's tailights have me wheezing. It ain't bad but could have been worse.

I'm not sure how to articulate it into words but I'm not a fan of this exaggerated tacked-on looking widebody rear quarter panel..
I like some smooth creases with a subtle hit of muscles.. 😗 The BMW designers are doing too much.. . |

Funny bc im completely the opposite. The abrupt fenders are actually one of the main reasons im interested in this car, besides it most likely being the last manual. As a 1M owner, I clearly have a type 🙂

However, BMW, even going back to the 1M, didn't really did go after the boyracer crowd. Their vehicle bodylines where classy, with a dash of grunt underneath the sheet metal. More a grower, than a shower - so to speak. This new swoppy direction of the highlighted JDM-esque bodywork was unnecessary. We know what the M2 is, what it represents and who it caters to, no need for it to mimic the appearance of a Civic Type R. Oh, that manual option.. 😉 BMW sure know what they was doing when they invested the resources to bring it back to at least the M2. It's really the only glue that's holding loyal fans onto the brand.. 😗 |

The competition and CS versions will look more aggressive and probably have more presence.

I'm sure this is just a me thing, but is no one else weirded out by the lack of mesh coverings? I don't mind the outer ones being open, but the large central one should have some mesh, kinda like the M5 LCI

I am now about 75% confident that the preproduction model driven with the automatic, carbon buckets, M seatbelts, and the camouflaged carbon fiber roof was the competition model. Time will tell.

I posted some details in the "rear photo leak" thread after seeing the car last week at IMS. Not sure how to link it. A couple other comments.
- There are no vents behind the front wheels. - Standing next to it, the side skirt / rocker panel protrusion was noticeably large. Larger near the front, smaller near the rear, or possibly a feeling based on surface angles and insets. You can see this in the pic of the b/w & colored camo cars. - Fender flares look more boxy and larger than G42. You can see them in the colored camo pics pretty well. Didn't look like the b/w camo pic above with the red circle (from memory). |
