rear seatbelts

Hi,

I’ve seen many BMW owners with coupes likes the 440i, M240i, 335i, etc. Who keep their rear seatbelts buckled in all the time. Is this just for looks, or is there a reason? Because when I get in my G42 it shows the rear seats as red boxes because the seatbelt isn’t buckled but goes away obviously as it senses no weight in the back. I was also wondering, if you did keep them buckled does it mess with the cars computer in case of an accident or something and tricks it into thinking someone is back there?

It’s to stop them rattling (not that mine do). They tension them and clip them.
