Im not sure about your E90 but on my E92 the angel eyes are H8 bulbs, although I'm pretty sure they are the same. The wattage can be anything you want but make sure it doesn't cause an error code. I got these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECSMAN6 10W is a but dim, you might want to get something brighter it all depends on how much you want to spend.

The pre lci e90 uses a unique bulb that you can't replace with anything off the shelf. It's a 10w halogen bulb encased in its own reflector and it's permaninaty attached in there. The easiest thing is to purchase a led style replacement which will be much brighter and significantly better color as well. As an example we offer the Lux E90 v5.2 angel eyes which are a 6500k white color and as bright as we can make them.

I you are looking for an aftermarket angel eye upgrade we offer a pre lci e90 one.

It's a 40 Watt which is the output. It will be significantly whiter then stock and offer a nice white output. They are compatible with your vehicle and error free.

The e90 pre lci is a weird bulb and it's not readily available off the shelf. That is why you see a few companies like ourselves offering this upgrade as it's custom made.

Here is a picture from one of our customers:

The e90 pre lci is not an H8.

Jeff, I'm going to pick up the 40 Watt bulbs for my 2008 335i. What bulbs would you recommend I use for the fog lights? Thanks!

In case someone's reads this relatively useless thread... Sedans and coups use differ bulbs. Sedans have the proprietary bmw engel eye bulbs.

Coups have a standard bulb

pre lci sedans have a ba9s 10W bulb that you can replace if you scrape on the black plastic melting connection to separate it from the metalic reflector

Adding my two cents here: doing the upgrade to the LED version of this proprietary BMW bulb is worth it. It is both cheaper and brighter than the 10W original bulb.

However, the LED bulbs end up flickering every time the car is stared (which is goofy and totally embarassing for a BMW), unless the car is recoded with an easy to use app such as Bimmercode, which has the option of instructing the car that various bulbs have been upgraded to their LED version. What this does is to actually deactivate the check control of the bulb upon starting the car, which sends short electrical impulses to check the condition of all outside bulbs, and ends up making any LED bulb flicker.

even if it's a old thread (bots again), ill put also my 2cents.

I tried a lot of cheap LED' since I didnt want to spend 300$ cad for lux, it was my beater car...

Found out all amazon with good review had issues , BUT code and flicker.
Color match wrong, burned after 1 month, dimmer than the other.

And I was running the car in winter only so 5°C to -26°C.

I finally found a set that still work after almost 2 years, the one with the resistor out of the headlight housing.

HOWEVER, this is also shit, since you need to drill a hole in the AE cap to let the wiring out. And this can fog the headlight if you don't seal it good.

I strongly suggest to do the job with headlight out, I had so much hard time to do a clean job while the head light was on the car.

I couldn't find the ali link, it's been 3+ years, but looks like the picture, and I was 30$ cad

Wow a close to ten year old thread... and it was resurrected with bad incorrect advice... especially in light of no one ever wants to go back to factory when replacing.

Have you done it, or do you have a source to share?
