Installed the M Performance Carbon Fiber interior trim kit (matte, 51-95-5-A27-1A3) and the M Performance Alcantara armrest (51-16-5-A5D-595c) and a red start/stop button from Autotecknic. Next on the list for interior is the matte carbon fiber steering wheel trim and shifter paddles. Really wish there was an option to replace the piano black trim on the shifter...

When you say pre-LCI shifter, you have the little paddle switch thing and you're installing the shifter that's in the 2022? Is the reverse possible, meaning if I have a 2022 with the older shifter, can I retrofit the paddle switch shifter from the 2023+ to mine?

Yeah, I've seen some people do it on the G20 forum. Either way should be plug and play.

I really like the suede armrest. Is it the entire armrest that replaces the factory armrest, or is it just an outer cover?

I don't know the part number, I had just found someone who was willing to swap it. Or you can find one on ebay too.

This?

Tbh I like this mod. Coming from a 6MT my left foot has already adapted to no third pedal, but my right hand still looks for a landing spot when relaxed driving with one hand.

ive actually been wanting to do this with my '24 since i purchased it but when i ordered on ebay, the seller (from poland) is saying it isnt the right part and wont fit, according the info he has and my VIN and is wanting to cancel the order to prevent me returning internationally unless i waive the refund.

attaching images to the item, hoping the community can help out. ive asked the seller to hold it for a day or two before he cancels so i can confirm fitment with this community.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been sick so I haven't had a chance to swap it in yet, but I also purchased mine from the Polish store on eBay and he sent me the same message. It won't show as the right part for your car because our cars didn't come with a real shifter.

Your chilling, the fitment is all good, just would say make sure the features on the left side are the same as it tends to happen if you don't, it may not work, I had that happen to a friend. I can't exactly say if it will for others, but try getting the one that has your features like camera, etc.

It's only for the TRE carbon fiber stuff, which is a shame if you're more of a gloss black kinda guy like me. They sent a link in an email with their US inventory.

That may be the plug, play and code device that some Japanese guy sells.

Yeah, it actually kinda makes no sense. The cheaper black gloss stuff should be in the US before the carbon fiber since it costs less. The shipping on the black gloss stuff is $200+ from autoid for a $300 front lip. I already emailed them about it so we will see what happens in the future.

I'm going to send an email as well, I have been impatiently waiting for the flat black splitter to come in stock, I would love to potentially save a few bucks and help support the US distribution.

I really want to retrofit the pre-LCI shifter into my '23, but having reviewed other boards, it sounds like if you need electronic related diagnosis and repair, BMW demands you put the LCI shifter back in, apparently. Now I have to weigh out my laziness versus wanting this part. Also, more than laziness, I'm afraid of taking off plastic trim multiple times for fear of rattles or breakage.

As to the topic of what I did with my G42 today, I buckled both rear seat belts since I've had some plastic sounding tapping from the rear. After two drives (yesterday and today), I think that noise is gone...it's been the passenger rear seatbelt probably this whole time. FML, I don't know why I didn't try that sooner, I know better. At least one less thing for the dealer to look at next week (hopefully). They'll be looking at the steering wheel creak if nothing else.
