Yes, if you search there are a number of posts that discuss this. It most likely will be no different than a MY23. Of course, they key point in determining time is once you receive your allocation/production number. Check this thread for timing people have faced or are facing. https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2037667 |

Not sure what you mean exactly.
Are you talking about the wait from deposit --- allocation --- production --- delivery ?? Or Just how long it takes from start of production to delivery?

For clarification, I would like to know how long the process would take from the deposit to the delivery

Literally nobody on here can tell you that with any accuracy.

Actually, production time is on average rather quick. Its all the unknown bs waiting before production starts and after production is complete to getting on the ship that makes the time add up to frustration levels. If the process was smoother and quicker from ready for transport to ship leaving port, the shipping time would seem like nothing. Of course, dont forget about any additional delays for port installed items. All of the above assumes no issues, campaigns, recalls or part availability delays. |

BMW has to grant an 'allocation' to the dealer. Until the dealer has that, any promise they make means nothing. There's nothing they can do. But if a dealer has an allocation in hand, AND they are willing to use it for your car, then the timelines can be estimated reasonably well. (The allocation includes a reasonably precise start-of-production date.) Dealers can kinda sorta guess when they'll get allocations based on previous history with BMW. Some dealers get more allocations than others based on sales volume, etc. But there are no real guarantees. |

So to clarify a bit.
When a dealer says "2 year wait", they compute that based on the length their own waitlist and their estimate of how fast they'll be granted allocs from BMW. So if, say, a dealer gets a G87 alloc from BMW once every 3 months or so, and you are 3rd on that dealer's waitlist, you'll likely get your ALLOC in about 9 months. The alloc will come with a build week, and you can use that date to get a good estimate. ONLY THEN can you get a solid estimate. If you want to maximize your odds, then put refundable deposits down with lots of dealers. The first one to get an alloc is the one that gets your money. You could also pay the dealer more ADM to move you to the front of the waitlist, but I don't recommend it. Last edited by Squidget; 08-02-2023 at 05:26 PM.. |

2024 M2 Purchase delivery timelines
I live in Toronto Canada and wanted to share my recent experience regarding timing. I placed the order/paid a deposit on July 17th for a 2024 M2. On Sept 21st I received confirmation of delivery to my local dealership for Oct 17th (my sales rep tells me he is confident in the delivery date...fingers crossed). 3 months. Can't wait!

Luckily in Canada, delivery dates have been more reliable than elsewhere as we have cars transported by rail from Mexico.
When I got my allocation in March, the dealer said production would be late Apr / early May and delivery late June. In the end production was complete on 26th Apr and delivery was 10th of June. |

Yes, the line (wait list) will determine how long you have to wait, so it is really location dependent.
Here in east coast, I have a allocation immediately when I put down my deposit last month (August) , and I was told they car will be built in Oct and be here for pickup around December or January. So the wait will be about 4-5 months.... Since then I told my dealer to remove me from the allocation, because I don't want to take delivery in the middle of winter. I will wait for the next allocation and take delivery in March/April timeframe, and I have not received a new allocation yet. But the dealer will let me know when the next allocation is opened up. |

If you wait for next March to put down your deposit, then it will depend on number of people in front of you, which is out of your control! but I also read many people back out from their allocation, so maybe getting an allocation will be easier next year... |
